The 37-mile walk follows the River Esk from its source high on the North York Moors, passing through Sleights and on to the coast at Whitby. Trains run to Whitby and Middlesbrough along the stunning Esk Valley Line. It is a real treat to see, hear and smell the iconic steam train puffing along from Whitby to Pickering on the 'North Yorkshire Moors Railway'.
