It is ideally placed for local amenities for those usual necessities such as corner shops and takeaways, but still close to the busy centres of Neath and Swansea and also activity opportunities such as the many hiking trails in Brecon, expanses of glorious beaches and gorge walks to admire the spectacular waterfalls. The cottage is fully self-contained with all necessary facilities including essential kitchen accessories. Please note that the price is per person per night, including children, but is a flat rate throughout the week and the year. You will have free, complete access to our cottage. Our friends across the road at No2 Waterfall Close, Eddy and Sarah Bliss are holding the keys and will introduce you to our cottage, however there is a key safe by the back door as a back up in case you arrive late. They will provide the code when you contact them directly near your arrival We are a young-at-heart retired professional couple who love the outdoor life in sunny S.W. France, where we have lived for 10 years. We recently bought this cottage in S Wales to spend winters in and visit family. We would like you to enjoy our cottage here during the spring, summer and autumn. Resolven is in the heart of waterfall country and our cottage is a short walk from Melincourt waterfall along a picturesque riverside gorge.. Resolven has all the essentials:- a post office, a pub, 2 corner shops, Chinese and Indian take-aways, an excellent ‘chippy’ and a vibrant Baptist church. All are within a 10 minute walk of our cottage. Our nearest beach is Aberavon, a 20 min drive, where you can enjoy a coffee or snack and enjoy the sandy beach. Neath is a 10 min drive away, boasting supermarkets, fuel, an indoor market and a shopping centre. Swansea, 20 mins away offers theatre, cinema, various shopping centres, restaurants and of course the Mumbles, Three Cliffs Bay is a beautiful place for walking as well as the Gower, designated area of outstanding natural beauty. Brecon, Monmouth and Caerphilly as well as many other places can be visited within a short drive. It is a great place to explore and take part in different activities. The cottage is on a bus route where you can get cheap and easy access to the surrounding towns. There is also a train station in nearby Neath. Cycling is popular as well as walking. We provide guide books, novels, indoor games and a welcome pack. There are steps and stairs but there is no reason that you cannot bring babies and young children as long as you supervise them as you would do at home. Our charge of per person, per night includes all children.
