Lawn Cottages - Flax Cottage

Lawn Cottages in Clive is a wonderful place to stay, with 6 separate self contained cottages set in 1ha of gardens around mature gardens with ponds. We are 10 minutes to Napier and Hastings, so midway and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. First night breakfast provisions (eggs, bread, milk, butter and jam) are provided. Flax cottage, fully renovated in 2019, is 2 bedroom 1 bathroom with a full kitchen including dishwasher, oven and cooktop and full size fridge/freezer. Outdoor furniture and BBQ sit on a private deck looking out to a private garden area. Your Cottage is accessed by the Guest Driveway which is named. Our grounds are laid out so that each cottage has its own picturesque area but are still handy to each other. A guest laundry is available for your use. There is also a hooded bbq with each cottage. Prior to your stay, we email you information about the stay and your cottage, guest laundry, towel replacements etc and contact numbers for Lawn Cottages team members. On check-out keys can be placed back in the lock box or left on the kitchen bench. Lawn Cottages is semi rural and surrounded by land that we own and orchards, providing you with privacy and quiet. The coastal cycle trail runs nearby and the beach is a short walk away. A vehicle is useful as Lawn Cottages is in Clive (semi-rural) so much of what is available is within a 10 minute drive. Clive is a small community and has a friendly hotel, 2 options for cafe food, a bakery, great coffee, a dairy, beauticians, etc. Flax is one of our pet friendly Cottages. A pet policy applies and the main points are below. • Pet stays are subject to management approval, for this approval we require details of their breed, name and age and how you sleep the dog at night (small to medium size dogs suit the cottages best). • An extra charge of $35 applies to cover additional cleaning costs. • Dogs only, sorry no cats permitted (1 dog per cottage). • Your pet must be up to date with their flea and worm treatments and vaccinations. • You must bring your pet’s bed or bedding and water bowls. Pets are not to sleep on the cottage furniture or beds. We prefer that you set up your pet’s bedding in the lounge area and not the bedrooms. • If you go out, you must take your pet with you. Pets are not to be left alone in your cottage. • You are responsible for your pet at all times when it is at Lawn Cottages. As owner, you are responsible for any damage caused by your pet. If damage occurs, please immediately advise Lawn Cottages staff. • Please clean up your pet’s toileting. • When walking around the grounds, please keep your pet on a leash. Your pet must not enter another guest’s cottage. • We have a large field next to the Guest Laundry where pets can run off leash under your supervision.
