Located at the foot of a hill slope and overlooking the Tâmega River, a Casa de Amarante is on a second floor of a building that belongs to the family for almost 100 years. Surrounded by lots of local commerce, the house enjoys good sun exposure and is in one of the main streets of the Historic Centre providing a unique opportunity for an excellent holiday. Decorated in a modern and minimalist way, a Casa de Amarante provides accommodation for 4 people. Inside the flat you can find: two rooms (each with twin beds), a wide bathroom, an open space with a living room and kitchen, an inner patio and a balcony overlooking the river. The flat provides: a fully equipped kitchen with pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, towels and sheets (can be exchanged), other fittings for comfort and wellbeing. The house enjoys good sun exposure. The access to the Casa de Amarante is made through the main street and the guests must climb a staircase of old granite. Surrounded by lots of local commerce. Whenever our guests need local help, or other information. As the house is in the historical centre, you can find lots of local commerce nearby, as well as traditional restaurants and places to have tapas and snacks. You can easily reach the most important places on foot. The guests can arrive Amarante by bus, with connections to Porto and other nearby places, or by car. There are free car parks in Amarante near the house. Right in front of the Casa de Amarante, there is a free car park at the weekend (Saturday afternoon and Sunday). Right in front of our building there is an urban bus stop. The flat can be easily clean and tidied up. Having in mind environmental and energy-saving issues, the house is equipped with solar panels and a small recycling system. When the guests check-in the Casa de Amarante is already cleaned and tidied up. For longer stays, we provide extra cleaning service that includes sheets and towels exchanging, which is included in the payment. /// OUR PLANET IS OUR FUTURE /// At Casa de Amarante we have environmental concerns and have adopted some measures to minimize the negative impact on our Planet: • As such, we do not use individual disposable shower gel and shampoo packs; • We have individual soaps made from vegetable dough and wrapped in paper without varnish; • Our hot water is heated using solar panels; • All the lighting in the house is done using low-consumption LED lamps; • We have a separating container for recycled waste, as well as a deposit for cork stoppers for our guests; • We place nest boxes on the property's windrows to provide shelter and increase the countless birds that frequent them. • We purchase most of our products from local shops and encourage our guests to do so, with numerous suggestions, thus contributing to the local economy of Amarante.
