Shippen Cottage

This two bedroom beautifully converted Shippen Barn, on the edge of Dartmoor, is warm and comfortable with a wood burning stove for winter and a sun deck for summer. Surrounded by 26 acres of woodland, it is only a 10 minute drive into Okehampton with Waitrose, Lidl and a host of other local shops. The beautiful north coast is only half an hour by car, and Dartmoor is on the doorstep, with a wealth of lovely walks. Shippen Cottage is part of Kigbeare Manor Farm and Kigbeare Studios & Gallery and is a beautifully old conversted cow barn on two levels. It has its own secluded patio as well as a sun-deck overlooking the orchard. Guests have access to the woods and river walk as well as most of the grounds, including the orchard, growing field and woods. We live in a house on the property so are almost always available. You do need to have a car, as public transport in this neck of the woods is not good. Despite being surrounded by woods, we are a short drive from Okehampton (10 mins) Exeter (30 mins) and Bude (30 mins). The cottage is surrounded by acres of woodland and a golf course so is fairly secluded and quiet.
