The Old Apple Store (nr Bradford-on-Avon)
The Old Apple Store is situated less than a 5 minute drive from the historic town of Bradford-on-Avon and 7 miles from Bath. It is a stylish modern space with 2 bedrooms; a shower room (no bath); a comfortable living space comprising a well equipped kitchenette with oven, 4 ring hob, fridge-freezer, toaster and kettle; breakfast bar with 2 stools, 3 seater sofa, TV with freeview, plus free wifi. This annexe is situated at Wood Villa where we live with our 5 year old son. This is a very comfortable apartment for 2 people, and can also accommodate a third person in a 3/4 double bed in the second bedroom. (Please note that access to the bathroom is via the double bedroom). We are always available on the phone or email should you have any questions during your stay. We are situated less than 2 miles from the historic town of Bradford-on-Avon, which has some wonderful cafes, bars and restaurants including Timbrell's Yard, The Grapes, Ravello's and the Canal Tavern. From Bradford-on-Avon you can enjoy walking along the river or canal towards Bath taking in the beautiful scenery, and stopping at Avoncliff or Freshford. Holt is less than a mile away from the property, with stunning National Trust property The Courts Garden, and The Wild Herb Cafe at The Glove Factory - a fabulous cafe with views across lakes and countryside. The river Avon and Kennet & Avon canal are very close-by making it a perfect spot for cyclists and walkers. There is a pub just across the road called the Old Bear Inn, a lovely country pub serving excellent pub food. Pre-booking recommended: (Website hidden by Airbnb) The picturesque Georgian city of Bath is just 7 miles away (20 minutes drive) or a 10 minute train journey from Bradford-on-Avon station. Bowood House, Longleat, Dyrham Park, the National Trust village Lacock and Stonehenge are a little further afield. The property is conveniently located on a main route from Trowbridge to Bradford-on-Avon. Despite its proximity to the road, it is quiet at weekends. You can access the canal tow path on foot, or bike from the property. Narrow boat hire is available a short 10 minute walk away in Hilperton Marina. An ordnance survey map will be available in the Old Apple Store with details on country walks, and footpaths connecting local villages and points of interest. The easiest way to get around is by car as there are limited footpaths in the vicinity and limited public transport. There is free on street parking alongside our property. There is adequate parking in Bradford-on-Avon at the train station or on the streets. There is also a large car park at the Glove Factory, which also serves the Courts Garden. There is a reliable taxi service based in Bradford-on-Avon.
