With accommodation arranged over three floors inside and three terraces outside – all with unimpeded views of Chianti woodland and vineyards – plus a generous private pool, the villa is ideal for families with older children or a group of friends. A full party of six will find plenty of space to settle into. And if you have any fitness enthusiasts with you, there’s even a well-equipped home gym in the pool house. There is much to enjoy inside Torretta Barbischio – ornate mirrors, richly coloured kelims and painted cupboards complement stylish contemporary windows and en-suite bathrooms – but the simple pleasures of watching the sun go down during dinner on the terrace may well come top of your holiday memories. On top of that, you are in a truly peaceful hamlet with an excellent local restaurant and are just a hop and a skip from Chianti’s gem, Gaiole. Notes Three bedrooms. Three bathrooms, all en-suite. Note that Torretta Barbischio's gardens are overlooked by the villa’s immediate neighbour and there is a road passing the villa – however, this is used only by local residents. Fire Place: Stove Pool The chlorine free pool with internal steps is set within a generous stone surround, which has a table and chairs, sunloungers and umbrellas. To one side, in the pool house, there is a fridge and a bathroom with a shower; to another, a small lawn. Pool size: 11m x 5 m, 1.5m deep. Open from May to September, weather permitting.
