Lovely, sunlit room in an artist's house.
My house is close to Blackheath village. One can walk from the village over the heath, through the beautiful Royal Greenwich Park to Greenwich on the River Thames. My home has been featured in Real Homes magazine. Since doing my first listing I have been looking after my son's cat. It was meant to be a temporary measure but he's still here! The cat stays away from the guest room. The room is south facing and it overlooks the back garden. A small river runs at the end of the garden and it attracts much bird life, even a king fisher has been spotted! The room is in the extension of the house and it is next door to the bathroom. The bathroom has a toilet and there is another separate toilet. The room is fully carpeted and apart from birdsong it is quiet with a nicely peaceful atmosphere. There is access to the garden and chilling out there in the summer months, is wonderful. You would be welcome to use the kitchen for making coffee, tea or the occasional light meal, but unfortunately using the kitchen for cooking full-time is really not ideal as this is my family home. Also I have had some requests to accommodate young children. I am very sorry that the room / my home is inappropriate for adults accompanied by their young family members. I am retired but I spend time at home or in my studio beside the River Thames, doing my textile work. I am available to give advice, directions etc. My grown-up son, who currently stays here, will also be available to help with anything should it be needed This is a quiet street and a very friendly street. My neighbours are the best one could have! The house is 2 minutes from our local park, with a small lake and tennis courts. Shops are nearby and a large supermarket. If you should wish to walk further, Greenwich is 40 minutes walk away via Blackheath Village. You will walk through the beautiful Royal Park with its stunning views of historical Greenwich and the River Thames. Greenwich has the Royal Naval College, Queen Anne's House, the Royal Observatory, the Fan Museum, the Cutty Sark and so much more. One can take a boat from Greenwich to London - again a very interesting ride (under Tower Bridge for example). To get to central London there are 3 railway stations (Blackheath & Hither Green within walking distance) and a short bus ride from the end of my street to Lewisham Station. From each station the journey to London takes 20 minutes. There is a bus throughout the night from Trafalgar Square to the end of my road, 3mins walk from my house, which is very convenient. The house has new wiring and a fire alarm system which is integral with the electrics. The newish boiler was serviced in November. There is adequate parking in the street but from 10am - 12pm parking needs to be paid for via the ticket machine. The house has a burglar alarm which is set when the house is unoccupied.
