Close to the River Clunie the cabins are nestled behind the Auld Bank House, a stone’s throw from Braemar Mountain Sports and The Bothy coffee shop, the larch cladding complimenting the surroundings. With comfortable beds, fresh linen and modern furniture, we think this is the perfect place to lay your head after a day exploring the Cairngorms. Zip and link bed gives the option of double or twin layout in both bedrooms, with one bedroom having electric zip and link. The cabin is designed to be disability-friendly with wheelchair access straight to the cabin. Inside, it is equipped with an electric stair lift, electric beds and a portable shower stool can be provided. We do ask you contact us prior to booking to check the suitability of the cabin for your requirements. We are committed to making all areas as accessible as we can, with wheel chair friendly pathways and easy access from car to the cabins. A small battery operated folding scooter is also available for loan. Safety note; The bedrooms are on the first floor. Whilst the stair lift has battery back up in the event of power failure it is important that those with reduced mobility are confident that in an emergency they are able to evacuate the building promptly either on their own or be sure that assistance will be available to them from a companion resident in the same cabin. We have three business here in Braemar, all on the same site. Next to the cabins is our retail store, Braemar Mountain Sports and The Bothy Coffee shop. We have a wealth of knowledge, both of the area and equipment and clothing to get you out in the fantastic scenery we have here in the Cairngorms. If you need any help during your stay we are on hand 9am to 6pm, 7 days a week. Braemar Cabins and Auld Bank House are located right in the heart of the village. Lying on the south east side of the Cairngorms National Park, Braemar is the gateway to Royal Deeside, with Balmoral Castle being just 8 miles away. There is a huge range of walks on the door step, from Munros to low level forest walks and great mountain biking, including family friendly routes to wild and remote singletrack. It’s a mecca for touring and road cyclists, with one of Scotland’s toughest Etapes passing our front door. We’re only 9 miles north of Scotland’s largest ski resort, Glenshee, which offers great skiing and ski touring. The highest 18 hole golf course in Scotland is only a stone’s throw away and there are more than 10 courses within 50 miles. The area is also a magnet for country sports enthusiasts, with world renowned salmon fishing on the River Dee. The Invercauld and Mar Lodge Estates both offer shooting, stalking and fishing. Then there are castles, whisky distilleries, cafes, shops, galleries and just taking in the amazing scenery!
