Le Teilleulet Lower Normandy

We have a lovely large double guest room on the first floor of our rustic French farm house in the Normandy Countryside. The White Room has a super king bed & en suite bathroom. We welcome guests with children and have a spare fold up bed which will fit in your room; but the house is not toddler friendly, lots of uneven steps. We can accommodate babies as we have a cot. We have sheep, chickens, dogs and cats and well behaved pets who get along with dogs and cats are welcome. We have satellite wifi. There is ample parking and an above ground pool for use from the end of June until September. We have large gardens, patio and orchard for guests to enjoy. The house is situated near Mortain and St Hilaire, it is in easy reach of the historical D day landing beaches and war cemeteries. We are an hour away from Mont St Michel. There are numerous chateaux's in our area too. We are English and enjoy meeting people from diverse back grounds and will treat you as a special guest in our home. We are happy to supply breakfast [as part of your room package] and possibly other meals by negotiation. We try to make your stay feel special, we serve breakfast in our kitchen. We provide cold and hot drinks in your room and a complimentary bottle of wine. If you want to use our cooking facilities you need only to ask., some guests have cooked a meal on request. Cats and dogs can be accommodated but dogs must be friendly to our cats. Our house is in the French countryside and you will need a car to enjoy being here. There are gardens, patio and orchard all accessible at all times. The utility room has washing, drying and ironing facilities. A travel cot is available for babies travelling with parents. Also a mobile single bed is available for a child over 2 years or 3rd person at the cost of e20. If you have a dog/s we have a contained garden so they can run freely. We do not object to well behaved pets in the bedroom with you. Dogs must be kind to our dogs [3] and cats [9 ] who are all rescued. Our patio area is there for you to use and relax, we won't interfere with your holiday but are here for you if you need us. We are out in the French countryside. Adjacent to us is a large farm. From the front of the house is the view of the valley where the Town of Mortain sits. The area is steeped in history of the second world war, Mortain was liberated by the Americans and we see many American visitors in the area. We are in easy reach of historic chateaux's and the City's of Bayeux, Mont St. Michel and Caen. The sea side resorts of Avalanches, Granville and Cancale are worth a visit. Just relaxing in our south facing orchard garden is also a good way to spend a few hours. During the summer months we offer the use of an above ground pool and ground floor shower facilities. You will need a car to stay with us, public transport is poor. However, trains from Vire [15 miles away] go to Granville, where there are lovely long beaches, and also to Paris in just over 2 1/2 hours. Our farmhouse house is very old and on many levels with steps into most rooms. This is not suitable for people with some disabilities and toddlers unless under strict supervision. There is no wheel chair access. If you smoke we would appreciate that use the back and front patios and will provide an ash tray for you. Please do not eat hot food [e.g. McDonalds] in the bedroom, we supply a table and chairs in the kitchen and will give you a shelf in the fridge to store food, if you would like to cook yourself a meal just let us know.
