Gîte Aux petits bonheurs (2 stars), built in 1850, was originally the home of the farmer. It is now a cozy and comfortable detached holiday home for 2 to 4 persons. Situated at the end of a small country road with no traffic. The gîte is completely surrounded by meadows where you can experience the peace and quiet of the well-known à la campagne, with only the sounds of birds of prey, woodpeckers and the grazing white Charolais cows that walk during the day in the meadows around the gte. The sitting room has 2 comfortable armchairs and a sofa. The thick walls make it a nice cool space during the day during the hot days. If it does get a bit chilly, the pellet stove and the available plaids provide a pleasant warmth in no time. With the many table lamps, there is a cozy atmosphere in the evening and good reading light. In a book or on the e-reader, because the gîte has a good (4G) internet connection. Watching French TV or Dutch DVDs is also possible. Next to the sitting room is a bedroom with a double bed (180x200). This space also stays nice and cool during sunny days. The kitchen next to the sitting room has patio doors to the terrace. In the fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, grill pan, 4-burner induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment) you can cook like at home. Kitchen linen is provided. The second bedroom is accessible via an open staircase to the upper floor. Here are two single beds (90x200). The stairs have a child gate at the top and bottom. All beds are made on arrival. The bathroom with shower, sink and toilet can be reached through the kitchen. Towels are available for all guests. A baby cot, high chair and a baby bath can be placed on request. Around the gîte are several seats from which you have a panoramic view over the rolling landscape, the forest and the meadows. Take a cooling dip in the pool and then place the mobile barbecue at the garden table or picnic table. In the evening, enjoy a colorful sunset by the warmth of a wood fire with a view of the cows and maybe even some deer. Or, once it's dark, the starry sky and the Milky Way. Because here in Perrigny-sur-Loire, dark is still really dark. At the gîte is a car park with ample space to park. Perrigny-sur-Loire is a small French village, located in the Saône-et-Loire department in the Burgundy region. With a density of 9 inhabitants per km², it is a quiet and above all spacious rural village. From the gte you can walk via the narrow country roads to the woods or towards the village center of Perrigny-sur-Loire for a beautiful view of the Loire. A restaurant has recently been opened in the village center opposite the church. Located at an altitude of 235 meters, the river Loire and the river Sauvigny are the main rivers that cross the commune. The hilly landscape offers beautiful views and quiet country roads for cycling. Perrigny is just in the hillside before it merges into the lower and flat landscape of the Loire area. Many cycling tours have been set out here that can be combined with the Voie Verte, the first Green Road in France. "The "voies vertes" are reserved exclusively for non-motorized vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers, the disabled and sometimes horse riders. They use old towpaths along canals and rivers, unused railway lines, coastal promenades, forest paths and the avenues of city parks." Bourbon-Lancy is 15 minutes from Perrigny-sur-Loire. Here you can rent electric bicycles to cycle the Voie Verte. This city consists of an old medieval quarter, parks, a well-known spa, a lake with its small "health path", a casino and a few museums. The Celto, a wellness center, opens its doors for you every day of the week. Every 2 years (2021, 2023 etc.), in the summer, "L'Été des Portraits", a major European photo exhibition on the streets of the city, is organized. In the area you will find, apart from various hiking routes, the Signal de Mont, a mountain of 472 meters high. In Saint-Aubain-sur-Loire (15 km) you can launch your rented canoe for a beautiful trip on the Loire. In the holiday home you will find information about canoe rental. In the opposite direction is Digoin (15 minutes away). A small town where you will find a mosaic museum, the canal bridge over the Loire, a stork's nest on the church tower, a museum dedicated to the Loire, its fauna, its flora and another canoe-kayak base on the Loire. Even without a license you can rent boats in Digoin for a day of sailing on the canal. Paray-le-Monial (30 km) is best known for its Basilica of the Sacred Heart and its horse races. Perrigny-sur-Loire is located on the border of the Burgundy/Auvergne regions where the Loire forms the border. Perrigny is therefore an excellent starting point for excursions in Burgundy and the Auvergne. As: Moulins (50 km), capital of the Bourbonnais, the Grand Café, "a café-brasserie on Place d'Allier, is one of the most beautiful in France. It is listed in the Inventory of Historic Monuments and has preserved its decoration from 1899 Art Nouveau style, the woodwork facade, the walls decorated with mirrors whose combined reliefs unfold the space to infinity, the clock and barometer are beautifully preserved." Vichy (70km). With its hot springs and geysers, Vichy paddle, hiking trails along the Allier and the imperial chalets where Napoleon III spent his childhood. Take empty bottles to Vichy to fill them with the famous spring water at Source Célestin. Children (and adults) can let off steam in the amusement and animal park Le Pal located in Dompierre-sur-Besbre, a 24-minute drive from the holiday home. The Morvan Regional Natural Park is an hour's drive away and you can visit a Buddhist temple about 45 minutes from the gte. And of course…. this Burgundian region offers a variety of restaurants. To start with, a restaurant in the village with French cuisine. Perrigny-sur-Loire is located between Digoin and Bourbon-Lancy. Both directions 15 minutes away by car. There you will find several large supermarkets on the outskirts of the city. Mini markets for groceries can be found in Saint-Agnan (10 min) and Gilly-sur-Loire (10 min). Bakeries can be found in Diou (15 min) and in the center of Digoin and Bourbon-Lancy. In the gîte is a list with addresses and opening times of the supermarkets in the area. During the cold days it is nice to bring warm slippers/socks because of the tiled floor. On arrival, the pellet stove and kerosene stove are fully stocked (the price includes 1 bag of pellets and 1 tank of petroleum). Cost of extra pellets: 15 kg bag € 5 / half bag € 2.50. Petroleum tank filling € 5 / half tank € 2.50. Payable in cash on departure. Pool towels are not provided. Please bring your own. The towels provided are for use in the gîte only.
