Cypress Creek Cabin and Art Studio
Peaceful, relaxed, and refreshed is how you will feel when you spend time at Cypress Creek Cabin's secluded location. The natural setting is the perfect getaway from the modern world...and yet just five miles from I-20. A peaceful place to stay on your I-20 travels, just 5 miles north of Ruston, and for anyone visiting Louisiana Tech University. A bridge that you can walk over leads to a 900 sq. ft. four room cabin six feet above ground with a front porch and deck overlooking Cypress Creek. Nestled in the woods, it includes a one king bedroom and a 9 x 13 artist studio available with art table. One large open living space has comfortable seating for reading or listening to music. Bathroom includes a large antique porcelain soaking tub with a hand held shower and a laundry area on one end. Cabin completely furnished with antique furniture, Chambers gas stove, microwave and everything for cooking. Large windows in every room provide lots of light. A retreat place meant for lovers, artists, musicians, and writers with no television, telephone or internet. Bring a book or enjoy our nice selection. NEW for 2017...vinyl listening with over 100 old albums from 60's and 70's. Also, a wide variety of CD's are available, and an electric piano and acoustical guitar for those musically inclined. A great place for nature lovers. We are five miles from the Super One grocery store, Starbucks, and our library. Six miles from downtown Ruston with fabulous boutique shopping, including a bicycle shop and plenty of local restaurants. We do provide a small selection of food for your breakfast. You have access to all rooms except art room. Upon request, you can use the room, but you will need to provide your own art supplies. It has an easel and a large art table. There are portable easels for use outside if requested. I am usually not nearby and you have your privacy. The winding creek around the cabin...the beautiful horses nearby...the trees overhead... A car is the only way...cabin is five miles north of town. I prefer you not driving over the bridge, parking at the front, and walking over. Be careful walking on bridge as it can be slippery during wet seasons.
