In a fairy tale: "Rübezahl" in Zehnthaus Steinbach
Bed and breakfast in a baroque gem, one of the oldest buildings in Baden-Baden. Built 1341 and restored in 1698, the owners have carefully restored the majestic Tudor building to preserve it's his very own character and charms. The entire house has a fairy-tale-atmosphere. You will stay in an active art studio. The newly renovated room is 194 ft² in size , almost 10 ft high and bright . The thick rubble stone walls and antique doors give it the atmosphere of a castle room . The soot-blackened ceiling was kept natural in the restoration. The studio has it's own small bathroom with shower and toilet. In the stately "Green Salon" you'll have a wonderful breakfast with fresh bread or baguette from 7 to 9:30 am , sundays from 8 to 9:30am. In the ballet studio, there are constantly courses in art, ballet, yoga, Qigong and Tai Chi . We are present ourselves and you are welcome to ask for help and advice. And of course we prepare your delicious breakfast! Check in is from 5:00pm to 10:00pm Check out until 10:00 a.m. House Rules 1. Mutual respect is the most important rule of the house. 2. Smoking outside, please! 3. Breakfast from 7 to 9:30, Sundays from 8 to 9:30 a.m. 4. Please don't let our cat go into the room and bed! 5. The paint mediums and tools are taboo . 6. The storage of fatty foods on the tables and drawing boards will result in immediate cancellation of your booking. 7. Toilets are no pissoirs and to be used EXCLUSIVELY being seated! Zehnthaus is situated in the medieval town of Steinbach 7,5 km from the center of Baden-Baden, in the vineland. A perfect site for walks and hiking with the Black Forrest in sight. Several Restaurants, pharmacy and super-market only minutes to walk. Baden-Baden downtown is about 7,5 km away. The tram of the Karlsruhe Transport Association is about 20 minutes' walk away. Baden-Baden train station or downtown is 15 min. by car or taxi, bus station (bus-Nr. 214 and 216) 100 yards away, takes about 15-24 minutes to town center. Airport Karlsruhe-Baden is about 16 min. by car or taxi. On Sunday mornings, when there's no bus yet, we can take you downtown for a fee. As the house is more than 300 years old you will occasionally experience creaking floorboards, waterflow in the tubes and the sound of the church bells. The latter may wake you up at 6am - on sundays at 7. Check in from 5 to 10pm
