Welcoming guests to stay at our perfect little getaway in Findon Village, West Sussex - on The Monarch’s Way, walking path. A beautifully presented, easy access, gf annexe w/private entrance, welcoming entrance hall, spacious bedroom, UK king size bed, lounge with double sofa bed. Open front garden with outdoor table & seating. Pubs, Restaurants, cafe and takeaway, all nearby. Light and airy, clean and comfortable. Please note this is a no-smoking property. You have the front door all to yourself - this is your private entrance. The two bay windows, over looking the front garden, as shown in the photos, are the bedroom and the lounge. The bathroom, has a large walk in shower with a drencher style shower head and lots of lovely hot water. There is heated towel rail and underfloor heating. There is also a shaver point. There is a kitchenette/food prep area with a nespresso coffee machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, mini fridge. Cutlery, crockery and a few essential utensils. There is no kitchen sink but there is a washing up bowl discreetly tucked away in the bathroom which you can use to rinse dirty dishes or similar to staying at hotel, we can discretely enter at your request and convenience to remove dirty plates and then return them to the annexe. There is an adjoining door between the guest annexe and our family home. This can be locked from both sides for your added security. Being in the South Downs National Park, we are surrounded by nature. We have reflected some of that greenery inside, with plants and on the walls, some prints and photography of the local area. The morning birdsong starts the day and the local owls lull us to sleep at night. The village is very popular with walkers and mountain bikers. There is are an abundance of local public footpaths, byways and bridleways. Arundel Castle is approx. 20 mins by car. There are local bus services also available. (Website hidden by Airbnb) We live at the property and can offer additional services (at extra cost) to our guests such as guided walking in the local areas, guided trail running, mountain bike guiding, dog walking, dog sitting, child minding (enhanced DBS checked) Your host, Kelly, owns The Monarchs Way Clinic (located on the property) offering massage therapies, reflexology and reiki. Why not combine your visit with a relaxing massage...? See (Website hidden by Airbnb) The annexe does not have a full kitchen but we have provided a food prep area, microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, toaster and kettle. The bathroom sink can be used to rinse and we have provided a washing up bowl and sink protector/drainer. However, we can discretely take away your dirty plates etc to wash in our dishwasher and that way you don’t have to do any washing up while on holiday! We have set up a Guests Netflix account with Disney + so you can enjoy a movie or catch up on a box set. Findon Village is so conveniently located. It has everything that an English Village has to offer and more! With access onto The South Downs, The Monarch’s Way, Cissbury Ring Ancient Hill Fort, from which you have stunning views out over the sea and all along the South Coast and beautiful beaches just 15 minutes away by car. Fancy a picnic? We have a picnic bag in the annexe that you are welcome to borrow - take a picnic to our local village green and watch the swallows as they swoop overhead or drive further afield to Swanbourne Lake in Arundel (our favourite picnic spot). Village pubs, restaurants , a lovely village post office where you can buy local produce such as fresh local bread, cheese, wine, and gin... Wedding venues, Cissbury Barns and Long Furlong Barns are nearby making this homestay ideal for visiting wedding guests. The Village is part of The South Downs National Park and therefore it is unlit at night, which is lovely for star gazing. It’s not unusual to see Deer roaming freely on early evening walks through the local woods. (Look out for the white deer 👀) There are local racing stables here in the a Village and you often see the horses training along the gallops. There is so much to do here. The village is rather well known for its annual Sheep Fair in September - a fun day out for all ages! It’s a wonderful place for photographers, walkers, mountain bikers, bird watchers (great for spotting our resident Grey Shrike on Cissbury Ring) and the nearby beaches which are dog friendly with free parking are just a 15 minute drive away (very popular with kite surfers, wind surfers and paddle boarders) you have the best of both worlds here! Note: if you fancy a go at Paddle Boarding, there is a water sports rental in nearby Worthing. Or a big water sports centre in nearby Chichester. Play golf? Bring your clubs! We have two very nearby (10 minute drive) local public golf courses - Hill Barn, a 19 hole Downlands course on the foothills of Cissbury Ring and Rustington is a 9 hole parkland course with a lovely undercover driving range, and American Golf pro-shop. A little further away there are Goodwood Hotel golf course and Hilton Avisford Park (both open to non residents). Brighton, Arundel, Chichester, Horsham, Goodwood are all nearby places to visit for great retail shopping, religious and historical buildings, horse racing, food, walks, bike riding. Things to do with kids. Nearby Out of Bounds at Rustington has a clip and climb centre, soft play, adventure golf, climbing nets, foot golf and bowling. It’s a fantastic place for kids, with inside and outside activities, for all weather. There is also a cafe here, a Par 3 golf course and driving range. In nearby Worthing, we have a lovely traditional Victorian Pier with amusements arcade. Fish and chips and ice cream parlours a plenty. There is also The Dome, a listed Victorian cinema, lovingly renovated, with three screens, showing discounted kids movies on a Saturday mornings. There is also a bowling alley in Worthing. We love living here and hope you enjoy the area as much as we do. More about Food & Drink. There are three pubs right here in our village, 5 minutes walk from our Airbnb. All three do excellent food! (Village House do a great Sunday Roast). The Gun Inn do Burger nights and French night. The Black Horse has a Skittle Alley. All have beer gardens and are dog friendly. There is also a highly recommended Indian, The Tajdar and (FOODIE ALERT!) We have an amazing fine dining restaurant, The Sylvan Oak, which is said to be on par with Michelin Star but without the price tag! Check out their Trip advisor Reviews.. 5* (Booking is advised) If you want a night in with a takeaway, the curry house in the village does take-away, 5 mins walk away. The Village House pub, does Wood Smoked Pizza on a Thursdays, Thai night on Saturdays - delicious, authentic northern Thai food, eat-in or takeaway. There are also two other Indian takeaways, a Chinese takeaway nearby - all of which deliver and fish and chip shop just a 5 minute drive away in Findon Valley. Also on Thursday nights, an artisan pizza truck sets up in nearby High Salvington (5 minute car drive) - there is also a beautiful country nature reserve in High Salvington with wonderful views. Why not have an evening pizza picnic? In Findon Valley (5 min by car) there is a Tesco Express and a BP/M&S Food - Pre made meals can be bought from either and heated in the microwave. There are buses that run half hourly into Worthing. There are also bus links to Arundel and Chichester. There are three train stations within a 10 minute drive, which have direct trains to Brighton and London (Worthing to London Victoria in one hour) Gatwick Airport is 40 minutes by car. Bring your swimming costumes... we can provide you with beach/swim towels, should you fancy a dip in the sea or a visit to Arundel Lido. We have had to introduce a £100 security deposit. Whilst we welcome dogs, we have had one occasion where both rugs had to be professionally cleaned after a guest’s dog had an accident. This fee is to cover any damage or unexpected professional cleaning requirements such as dry cleaning upholstery and furnishings.
