Historic and Elegant: Park Terrace
This is a beautiful home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in the Capitol area, close to sight-seeing interests and very convenient for transportation. There is a lovely vegan restaurant, and several other nice places to eat and shop right within walking distance. This historic home, built in 1895, was once riverside property. The "Park River " ran through the Capitol Area, and through Bushnell Park until , after the flooding in 1936 and 1938 the Army Corps of Engineers began the project of submerging the river into a concrete conduit. This was, at the time, one of the largest engineering projects in New England. Our neighborhood, consisting of two row houses between two parks and Capitol Avenue, was designed by the architect, George Keller, who also designed the Bushnell Arch and other landmarks that give Hartford its historic appeal. This home is located in the "George Keller Historic District". The apartment is replete with architectural details. The golden light on the richly seasoned wood floors is particularly lovely throughout the day. PLEASE READ THIS!! There is very important information in the self check in section of our listing . If anyone cannot access this after booking please let me know. I have also drawn up a copy of the info which I send to each guest upon booking. Early check in and late check out will be considered for an additional $20 fee and at the discretion of the hosts. As we are fastidious in preparing for each guest, we need maintenance time between. However, early bag drop off/ storage is always available on the first floor. Guests have complete access to the entire 3rd floor apartment with the exception of one utility closet. Dear Potential Guests, PLEASE read thoroughly all the important information I have put into our Airbnb listing. It can be extremely frustrating to get questions etc, 24/7, which are already answered in the listing description. Please be considerate of the fact that Airbnb hosts do not have hotel staff, and just like you, have many other demands on their time. We rent a space in our home, and for the time you are our guests, we will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is pleasant. However, we are not responsible to assist inordinately with your travel plans, and other personal needs. For the most part, these kinds of questions will not be responded to. You are advised, in this event, to consult our Airbnb listing. That said, our guests will always feel welcomed. After settling in, you will have complete privacy and come and go as you please. We do ask that guests remain considerate of our tenants on the second floor below. There is a walk up 3 flights of stairs, with 2 landings, so guests should be comfortable with this. We are available as needed throughout our guests' stay. We hope that you will have a very pleasant visit with us! In the heart of the state's capitol, there are many things to see and do within walking distance. The city bus stops right across the street. The train/bus station is within walking distance (10 minutes). Bradley Airport is 20 minutes away. Great Uber and Lyft in the area. Dear potential guests, please take a few minutes to read the listing details upon booking with us. Part of what makes it possible for hosts to open up their homes and 24/access to guests, is that the Airbnb platform is largely self service. Please try to curtail circumventing the already well planned system, as everything you should need , including very clear self check in instructions, are there. Of course we want to be cordial hosts and welcome our guests, when they arrive. Thank you for your consideration in this. We hope you will have a very pleasant stay!
