Luxury Motorhome overlooking Baslow & Curbar Edge
Set on a quiet hillside surrounded by fields and woodland in the Hope Valley, looking up to the stunning Curbar and Baslow Edge. Abundant in wildlife you can also enjoy spectacular walks with direct access from the accommodation, from tranquil woodland and riverside walks to dramatic grit-stone edges and moorland. To make the most of your stay we can provide outdoor adventures through our company (Website hidden by Airbnb) this can be anything from a guided walk to caving and rock climbing. The Motorhome is positioned on a spacious elevated platform overlooking stables. Watch the sun rise over Curbar Edge from the bedroom window, or sit outside under the awning with spectacular uninterrupted views. No other guest accommodation on site. From the platform hopover the style straight on to footpaths. Access to the premises and motorhome is spacious and therefore increases safety against COVID-19. Hosts are committed to COVID-19 safety and respect a 2 metre distance. Face mask and gloves worn by the hosts if entering the morning at all. Guests have full use of the Motorhome space and platform area with direct access to footpaths. Guest's vehicles can be parked on site on the driveway. Access to the Motorhome is from the top gate, down the driveway. Access is prohibited to the horses' stables including adjoining enclosures, and also to any of the indoor buildings, such as the hay barn and storerooms. Guests are not allowed to have visitors on the premises. We will be there to welcome you on arrival and live a short drive away from this location. We are available by phone or on site if you need assistance. We visit the stables twice daily to tend to the horses and sheep, and sometimes spend time at the stables to ride or groom the horses. Calver is a small village situated in the Derwent Valley, Derbyshire. The village is bordered by the River Derwent, with a population of less than 1000. This great location hosts a variety of Resturants Including excellent pub food and Indian cuisine within walking distance. Also cafes, pubs and popular ice cream / sweetshop are all within a short walk from the accommodation. In Calver village there is a garden centre and also a specialist alpine garden centre. A short drive from the accommodation (3 miles) you can visit Bakewell and treat yourself to a Bakewell pudding, visit the glorious Chatsworth Estate (2 miles), or visit the historic Eyam Plague village (2 miles) with craft centres and cafes. Great for walking routes, Calver is intersected by the A623 trunk road, responsible for carrying traffic between Manchester to the west, Sheffield to the north and Chesterfield to the east. Maps and walking routes are available. There is a reliable bus service to Sheffield Chesterfied, Bakewell, Castleton and other nearby towns. Grindleford railway station is approx 2 miles away. Reliable taxi service. There are horses and sheep at the property. We welcome guests to become acquainted with the horses from over the gate, while the horses are in their enclosures, however, not while they are out in the paddocks grazing. We insist that guests are never to feed or give any titbits to the animals, as this can cause aggression in any horse. The 2 sheep are tame and friendly and enjoy a fuss, they came to us as cade lambs. We are taking extra cleaning measures and sanitizing all inside surfaces of the motorhome including: walls; windows; cupboards; furniture; welcome pack; and utensils. Books and games are taken out and exchanged for a fresh set to allow for a 72 hour lapse. Outdoor shoes must be left outside the Motorhome so that we can keep it in good condition for our guests. Guests are not allowed to bring visitors on the premises. There is only 12V supply of electricity to the motorhome, however we do have an off-grid solar supply which provides 240V, giving an intermittent supply. In the kitchen there is a fridge and small freezer which runs on gas continuously. There is an oven and hob which also runs on gas. The microwave is not in use. We ask guests not to open any gates apart from at the entrance to the property.
