Cosy Cottage, College Lane, Masham, Yorkshire
This charming 2 bedroom cottage in the heart of Masham in the Yorkshire Dales has been newly decorated and furnished. The large Sitting Room has a wall mounted smart tv and Dining area leading through to the Kitchen with electric oven, washing machine and dishwasher. On the first floor are two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other a superking which can be made as a double or twin room and separate Bathroom. Wifi is available. This cottage has been recently modernised and has had a new kitchen and bathroom installed as well as a new heating and hot water system and has been re-wired and decorated from top to bottom. It has a new fully fitted kitchen with a range of base and eyelevel units, electric hob unit with an electric oven below and extractor fan above, built in fridge/freezer and dishwasher with plumbing for a washing machine. The Sitting room is a good-sized room with large windows throwing in lots of light and space for a dining table. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms and a family bathroom with a built-in bath, separate shower cubicle, wash hand basin and wc. There is no parking at the cottage but free parking in Silver Street and also parking in Masham market square. Parking on Silver Street or on Masham Square which is close to the cottage. We are available on the phone for guests. Masham, which is situated on the River Ure, is a thriving market town and has a selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes, butchers and local fruit and vegetable shops all within walking distance of the cottage. There is also a local market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Tour de Yorkshire passes through Masham every year and the local area provides wonderful cycling routes. Twenty minutes drive from Masham you will find Leyburn which is also a lovely Market Town, their market day is on a Friday. Campbells the independent food store is a haven for food lovers, with its local food and fine wine department. Just outside the town you will find Tennants the largest auction house outside London, try visiting on a sale day if you can, if not they have a modern cafe, restaurant and shop making it an interesting place to stop. For a family day out with a difference, The Forbidden Corner, a very unique family attraction set in stunning countryside, here you will find follies, tunnels and surprises galore, a memorable day out for the whole family. Richmond has its historic Castle for history enthusiasts, along with a lovely river walk and plenty of one off shops. The Station is a converted Railway building which now houses a cinema, restaurant and speciality food shops. Explore a little further up the Dales and you will find quaint towns and villages such as Reeth and Hawes, these lovely little towns are a pleasure to wander around with lots of options for a cosy lunch or dinner, some have beer gardens with amazing views or you can sit inside by a roaring fire. For the more serious walker the Dales offer some of North Yorkshire’s most stunning climbs. The Cathedral City of Ripon is a short drive from the cottage, and further on from there is the Spa town of Harrogate with the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms and upmarket shops. The racecourses of Ripon,Thirsk, Catterick and York are all within easy distance. Swinton Park is situated “just down the road” and provides one of the best Luxury Hotels in NorthYorkshire. Winners of many awards the hotel excels in fine dining as well as having a very well respected cooking school and luxurious Spa. There is also a wonderful trekking centre based at Swinton with a golf course close by and the excellent shooting school at Warren Gill. The countryside around Masham offers delightful riding and walking opportunities and has many other local attractions. Ripon 9 miles, Harrogate 20 miles, A1 7 miles, Northallerton Train Station 14 miles.
