Our tranquil home is close to the beautiful medieval village of Besse and the Sancy Mountains in the Auvergne Volcanoes National Park. There are lots of summer activities and winter sports at Super Besse, which is 7km up the road. Our home is well equipt and caters for all ages. Please note that in low seasons (see calendar for dates) both short stays and Bed & Breakfast in individual rooms may be available. In the high seasons bookings must be for a minimum of 7 days commencing on a Saturday. Our home provides a large family space which caters for children, family and friends. We have spent many years enjoying and enhancing its facilities. We enjoy cooking and have ensured that the large kitchen is well equipped for those who want to cook. We have spent a lot of time developing the garden so that is a tranquil place to enjoy. We have created two patio areas - one large enough for outdoor eating and the other to sit and listen to the stream that flows at the front of the house. We have ensured that the enclosed garden is safe and secure for children and dogs. We have provided garden furniture and a BBQ for the warmer months. All areas of the main house are availabe for the use of guests. Our neighbour Alain is our main contact point and he will meet you on your arrival. He will ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. Our home is located on the edge of the beautiful medieval village of Besse and has lots of historical features of interest. Because Besse is located on an extinct volcano lots of the buildings are made of volcanic larva stone. The church is of especial interest. The views from the village are truly magnificent and breath taking and the many walks allow you to explore this hidden jewel of the Auvergne. The village is well provided with shops and even has a well stocked super market. There are plenty of restaurants which provide a range of Auvergnese food. During the winter season a free bus provides transport for skiers from a bus stop at the end of our road to Super Besse - the ski station. Cars can be rented from Claremont Ferrand - the administration capital of the Auvergen which is a half an hour drive away. A non-driving holiday is possible because the facilities in Besse are within walking distance. There are local taxis available. Besse is a very well self-sustained village with a range of shops and restaurants including a Super Market, where you can buy petrol/diesel. There are many seasonal activities to be found at Besse, Super Besse and surrounding areas.
