A one hour drive from Adelaide central and 12 minutes from famous Barossa Cellar doors. The ClareValley and Auburn are within range at 40 minute drive. Welcome to the barn, a much loved spacious beautiful home with pitched ceilings and open plan living room which catches the morning sun in summer and the shade in winter. Ground yourself and unwind in the Barossa. The barn is a solid 1860s structure made from local blue stone, Mintaro slate, polished thick original wooden floors and beams converted with the help of an architect and a local builder to a very comfortable home and spacious living space guests love. The glass doors and windows open from downstairs wide to the garden. This beautiful comfortable home has been featured in Inside Out magazine , Australian Country Style magazine and Qantas magazine. The barn is located on the edge of the charming country town of historic Kapunda on a large 3/4 acre block with a rambling Mediterranean style garden with pathways to the front of the barn providing space from the road and neighbours. There is lots of room to relax and unwind in and outside of the barn. The spacious kitchen has a gas top electric oven and lots of cooking utensils and a coffee maker. There’s room for two cooks. The kitchen also accommodates 10 to the dining table and plenty of chairs. This is an ideal hang out space to prepare local produce and enjoy your wines together. Or enjoy the morning sun and the papers over a languorous breakfast. Outdoors in front of the barn in the area landscaped with river rose coloured fine pebbles, a marble dining table and stylish black iron chairs are perfect for those long summer evenings . The living area is open plan and large has two areas created with banks of sofas so there can be some guests watching a movie or tv , and another few guests enjoying the roaring fireplace . The barn easily absorbs many people doing different things from resting in the lovely loft rooms upstairs and reading to being social downstairs cooking to enjoying the living room or sitting in the sun outside while you plan your day sightseeing and wine tasting. The barn is perfect for a couple, a friends get away or get together or for solitude. There lots of picturesque local walks . The two bedrooms are large loft rooms with attractive generously pitched ceilings. They each have temperature controls with reverse cycle air conditioning. Each room has a queen size bed and a single bed. Beds are made up for you and towels and linen supplied with a cotton emphasis. There is a pantry and laundry under the stairs. Feel free to use the washing machine and dryer. There is one bathroom with a traditional renovated claw foot bathtub, a toilet and a shower. Shampoo and conditioner and a hairdryer are supplied as are bath towels and mats. Guests enjoy privacy and peace and quiet as well as birdsong. The northern aspect brings sunshine to the barn on winter mornings and shade in summer. Kapunda enjoys spectacular sparkling night skies all year round. Enjoy the entire property to yourselves located just 12 minutes drive from cellar doors in Greenock, and 20 minutes from the Barossa wineries and farmers markets and one hour from the heart of the Clare Valley’s wineries, restaurants and wine country landscape. This is a safe haven with cottage neighbours either side but at a private distance . Guests report the photos don’t do it justice ( even though I have used a pro photographer as well as my own photos) so they are blown away when they arrive and they love the experience from the moment it begins. For your convenience the fridge is stocked with free range eggs , milk, juice , butter, jam , bakery bread and more so need to rush around . You have the whole property to enjoy which is on 3/4 acre. There are chairs for the patio area to read the papers and enjoy a coffee, a big open kitchen with family size table to entertain and cook in. The living room has two sets of couches including a tv area and and the fireplace area. The fireplace is set ready to go and stocked with lots of wood. There is one bathroom which has a bath and shower and toilet . Under the stairs is the pantry and a laundry with washing machine and dryer. A new hot water system ensures there’s plenty of hot water even with a full house of 6 people . Ideal for a couple, friends get together or family. The fridge is stocked with basic breakfast provisions, milk, tea and coffee so you can relax from the moment of arrival. The barn is 18 minutes to Maggie Beers Farm shop and The Eatery ( a very delicious dining experience featuring local produce and shared plates style ) & 24 minutes to the Barossa Farmers Markets and all that ANGASTON and Vintners restaurant . Take in the sculpture park lookout with stunning views across the Barossa. Explore the Kaiser Stuhl national park where you can see kangaroos if you keep your eyes peeled and tread softly. Yalumba winery and many boutiques wines are great to visit in the area. Tanunda is 30 minutes drive from the barn and has boutique shopping, more wineries, cafes restaurants and art galleries. Local amenities, pubs, supermarket, park for the kids and landscaped duck pond, and country bakery. Kapunda enjoys sparkling night skies all year round. World rated cellar doors are a 12 minute drive away in Greenock. Kapunda itself has a new sensitively rendered supermarket, 4 pubs, a park with Thomas the Tank Engine for kids, and a beautifully landscaped duckpond ideal for relaxation. A short walk from the barn past historic stone homes brings visitors to the old Coppermine now landscaped with Walking path’s. Runners and those who like to train will enjoy the endless country lanes with uninterrupted views of rolling countryside and practically no traffic except maybe an occasional kangaroo. There is also plenty of off street parking in Mary Street which is totally safe for your cars or visitors. The barn is approximately one hour and 10 minutes from the centre of the city of Adelaide or One hour and 15 minutes from the airport. The two large loft rooms with beautiful pitched ceilings and original beams are upstairs. The stairwell and stairs has a safety rail in case of any elderly guests who like the security of a railing. If you are a very tall person then you need to watch the top of your head as you go up the stairs. I have a safety railing I like to put in at the top of the stairs at night. The barn has heating and cooling via a reverse cycle air conditioning system in three locations so you can temperature control the space . The fireplace adds atmosphere and warmth and is set ready to go for your enjoyment.
