The private gite nestles in one end of the stunning barn conversion. Rural views from all the windows. It is at the end of a 'no through' road; yet only ten minutes from amenities and a range of outdoor activities, if you want. The gite has been carefully and thoughtfully laid out to make the most of the beautiful character features. The open plan double height living space highlights the beautiful vaulted ceiling. Huge windows ensure the open plan space is flooded with light. The folding doors open onto the terrace which faces west into the setting sun. The stone walls have been preserved and carefully repointed using the traditional techniques. The ancient oak purlins and A frames are left exposed as are all the new structural timbers, which have been made with locally sourced green oak. All the furniture, fixtures and fittings are the highest quality. The kitchen has an integrated washing machine and dishwasher. The American Style fridge/ freezer dispenses ice and cold water. There is a SMEG electric oven and gas hob with extractor hood, and a Nespresso coffee machine. Both shower rooms have Hansgrohe showers, glass screens and quality fittings. Large shower towels, hand towels, shower mats and soap are provided. The beds are made up for you with high quality bed linen. There is a double and a single bed in each bedroom, so we can offer a double bed or twin beds in each room. Initial supplies of kitchen and bathroom supplies are provided. For guests staying a week there will be a welcome basket which will contain sufficient for a simple supper for Saturday evening, and breakfast on Sunday morning. There will be a bottle of wine, eggs and fresh produce from our garden. Private entrance. Parking for two cars. Bifold doors open to private terrace. Steps lead down to courtyard garden. This leads into the field and on to 12 hectares of private woodland. You are welcome to walk through the woods on marked paths which meander through the ancient woodlands in the shade. A public bridlepath leads from the gite down to the lake. Guests are able to have our home grown seasonal produce as availability permits. Mushrooms grow abundantly in our woods in the autumn. We live at the other end of the barn. We are always available for advice or recommendations, but ensure your privacy is respected. Guest are welcome to use the leaflets, maps, guides and books provided. Situated in the undiscovered region of Corrèze, on the western edge of the Massif Central we are surrounded by the rivers, lakes and forests of the ‘Parc naturel régional de Millevaches en Limousin’. Traversed by a huge network of pathways the moorlands, meadows, woodlands and rivers remain totally unspoilt. It offers a tranquil retreat and a haven for wildlife. Perfect for a relaxing or an active holiday. You can walk all day and not see anyone! There is very little public transport in rural Correze. There is private parking for two large cars. This stunning undulating landscape, with warm lakes, miles of empty roads and paths is perfect for hiking, open water swimming, road cycling, mountain biking and running. There are three lakes within a short distance with a range of water sports; SUP, kayaking, windsurfing, boating. Fishing is permitted in the lakes and rivers.
