Rumah Jambon Village House - Bungalow
A small bungalow using teak wood from old Javanese house located in a village 20 minutes from City Centre. The bungalow is in the back yard of "Rumah Jambon Village House" in a quiet surrounding, and it's perfect for those who wants to write or read or just escape from hectic-crowd routines. Guest can wander around the village through rice and sugar cane field and also irrigation canals. The bungalow has a bathroom with hot shower, air conditioner, terrace and garden. Three sides of the wall of the bungalow were made from an old teak from my grandmother's house in Pati, Central Java. The original wood was a big nicely-carved partition of a traditional house dated 1908. It was transported to Jogja in 2010 when the house was sold and the new owner wanted to tear down the old house. The bungalow has a bathroom with traditional shower (a clay bucket and a scoop), air conditioned and a garden. Coffee and tea, fruits and bread for breakfast are provided in the bungalow. Perfect for those who want to have some rest or reading and writing. Guests can have access to the whole bungalow including the garden and fish ponds. Guests can also use a work space in the building beside the bungalow for a better wifi access. It is also possible to use the kitchen in the main house. I am living in the main house in the front and available most of the time. If not, I will ask my brother who lives nearby to help you with anything related to house access and facilities. We speak English and Bahasa Indonesia. We can help you with information about Jogja and places to see. The house is in a village where people are still talking to each other. Please be polite to them, a smile and greet would be nice if you meet them when you jog around the village. Please do not make a noise if you come home late at night. Like in any other cities in Indonesia, public transport is not adequate and not good. You can call a taxi though if you want to go to the city (20 minutes to the famous Malioboro Street of Jogja by taxi). When you're already in the city centre, you can take public bus "Trans Jogja" that connects main areas in Jogja like the airport, Prambanan Temple and inter-city bus terminal in Giwangan. We can also help you arrange renting a car or if you are adventurous enough, you can rent our motorcycle. "Gojek", an Uber-like motorcycle, is also another option to go everywhere in Jogja. You need to download the apps first. Guests can have a small garden party but please respect the neighbors by not making noise or loud music until late at night. If guests want to have a traditional massage, there are some old ladies in the village who can be called for a massage.
