Being just minutes off Route 30 and I-91 (VT’s major highway) Willows Haven is a short way away from a multitude of some of VT's best ski resorts. Mt.Snow(30mins*), Stratton (37mins*), Bromley (42mins*) and Okemo (57mins*) just to name a few. If fishing interest you, you can find many angling opportunities close by. From Ice fishing at the Brattleboro Retreat Meadows (13mins*) to pike and bass fishing at Spofford lake or the CT river (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) mins*) even trout/fly fishing at places such as Knapp pond(1hr*). VT is a fishermans wonderland. If fishing isn't your thing, but you still want to get out on the water places such as High County Marina ( 30mins*) on Harriman reservoir offer rentals of everything from pontoons to jet skis to canoes and kayaks. Hikers need not worry as the Green Mountain National Forest is right next door. Offering endless hiking trails as well as access to the famous Appalachian. If Beer and Food is what you are looking for 15 mins away in Downtown Brattleboro you'll find breweries such as Whetstone aswell as Hermits Thrush. You can even stop in at the Brattleboro Food Co-op for a massive selection of local craft beers and local meats and veggies. Willows Haven is also 1hr* from the famous Harpoon brewery and restaurant in Windsor which offers daily tours and tastings. After your full day of VT adventures enjoy coming back to sit on the spacious farmers porch, or second floor deck to take in the 180° views and amazing birdwatching during the summer, or sit by the warm Fireplace and Woodstove enjoying a hot cocoa during the cooler winter months. The home is spacious with nooks and crannies to curl up with a good book or to sip on Tea or brandy. The neighbors are deliciously quiet. You will have access to a full kitchen with all the amenities. As a personal caterer for 10 years I provide fresh fruit and muffins in the morning and if you are here in the afternoon I will provide an afternoon snack (i.e. cheese and crackers, vegetables and hummus, etc). I can also recommend several area restaurants for your meals or you are welcome to use the kitchen to cook your own. We hope you like pets because you’ll be greeted by three pets – two super friendly rescue dogs, Miracle and Katie, and a more elusive cat - Wildfire. I am available as needed and will provide fruit and muffins in the morning and a light afternoon snack. Phone access to me via cell will upon arrival for your stay or emergency. My home is set in a beautiful neighborhood that is very safe and very quiet surrounded by nature, and set at the end of a private driveway, with parking for up to 4 vehicles.
