This is a stunning contemporary conversion at garden level within a 135 year old house. It is set in three acres of woodland garden with a private patio and lawn area. Access to the property is via 12 wide stone steps, with a sturdy rail beside (see pictures in the listing). There is a full kitchen, an open fire, lots of great amenities, extremely comfortable beds, luxury bedlinen, and a powerful shower. North Wales is full of beauty and adventure, all the year round. This is a lovely place convenient for the beach and Snowdonia. It is incredibly peaceful despite being only 5 minutes from the A55 and mainline train station. You will have part of the woodland garden for your exclusive use. This includes a sunny patio - perfect for breakfast or lunch outside. We live in the main part of the house and there will almost always be one of us around. If you arrive when my husband and I are at work you may well meet Lorraine who works with us and is responsible for the changeovers. We’re happy to help you get the very best out of your stay with us. With three older children ourselves we know how to help families have a relaxing holiday. We have an EV charger - please discuss the use of this with us when you enquire about booking. This part of Colwyn Bay is the perfect combination of countryside, easy access to the beach and Snowdonia but close to a thriving and quirky town. It is the jumping off point for the new (Website hidden by Airbnb) route which brings together the best destinations and attractions in North West Wales. There are outdoor adventures which can operate in all weathers and in all seasons. Colwyn Bay is enjoying a renaissance and new, independent business are establishing themselves here. Within 5-10 minutes there are a Lidl, Aldi and Morrisons. There are specialist cheesemongers, butchers, wine shops and real ale pubs in the area. There are wine and cocktail bars and several cafes offering a wide choice of meals. From the Garden Suite you can walk through Pwllycrochan Woods, or down to Eirias Park where there is a 25m swimming pool, tennis centre and rugby stadium (which also hosts concerts). Due to COVID19 regulations in Wales please check what is open / available at this time. It’s useful to have a car but you are only 20 minutes walk from a mainline railway station and bus network. The route to and from the town does involve some hilly sections and there is no footpath on Nant y Glyn Road once you leave the first section. This is an old house, full of original and beautiful features. It was originally built as a holiday home for Manchester industrialists but has also been a vegetarian hotel and a youth hostel. There are tiles and rugs in the bedroom, high quality duvets and bed linen and extra blankets if required. There is a super king bed which can be divided to make two singles. We can also provide single duvets on the superking bed if you prefer this - just let us know your preference when you book. In addition there is a single daybed in this room. You can use this as a sofa or as an additional bed - again, just let us know how you wish to use the sleeping spaces when you book. The living space has an original wooden parquet floor and is full of sunlight in the mornings. The sofa bed is a small-ish double, probably best for children or single adults. The kitchen area has a full size dishwasher, oven, hob, washer-dryer, fridge with ice box, microwave, kettle, cafetière and toaster. There is an excellent supply of crockery, glassware, saucepans and cooking equipment. If you are travelling with children we can provide games, books and plastic cutlery. WiFi is available and you can access your Netflix/iPlayer account on the smart TV. There is plenty of storage space and a hall area for walking boots, wellies etc. The hot water tank is a long way from the Garden Suite so it can take some time for the hot water to arrive - please be patient. Sometimes the pipes rattle a bit - its all part of the charm! The bathroom may feel a little cool but the shower is toasty warm and there is a heated towel rail. Our part of Nant y Glyn Road is single track, with no pavements. You may need to reverse to allow other drivers to pass. There are streetlights until just before our gate so if you plan to be out after dark ask to borrow a torch! We walk along the road frequently and have pushed many buggies along it over the years.
