A unique light filled eclectic space, this converted dairy bails at Rockwall Farm is the perfect place for a relaxed getaway in nature. Set in the beautiful Byron Hinterland, 10 minutes from the bustling town of Mullumbimby, this lush 75 acre farm is home to happy cows, horses, chickens and bees, and abundant birds and other wildlife. It is the ideal base to access walking/mountain bike trails, waterfalls, funky cafes and pristine beaches that the surrounding area has to offer. The Bails is a relaxed and informal space, with a homely feel. Suitable for a couple wanting to unwind and reconnect in nature, or a single person looking for some peace and quiet. Thinking about moving to the area? The bails is ideal for a longer stay while you get the feel for the area. The living/kitchen/dining space is light and airy and large enough to spread out in, with green rural views out each window. Pick your own veggies from the garden to prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen, with gas cook top, electric oven, fridge and coffee machine . Olive oil, salt/pepper, butter and milk are supplied to get you started, and of course our farm fresh eggs and honey are available. The outdoor undercover area is private and perfect for meals or lounging on the day bed with a good book. In the cooler months sitting on the stone wall around the outdoor fire area is a must. There is a Webber BBQ for outdoor cooking. You will enjoy a restful night sleep in the queen size bed with topper and quality bed linen, the silence at night can be almost deafening! There is no air conditioning in the Bails, but ceiling fans in the main area and bedroom ensure the place stays cool and comfortable. In the cooler months there is a gas heater. There is WIFI and a smart TV. You will be soothed by the beauty of this rural property, and the casual relaxed feel of the space. It is suitable to stay for a few night, or a few weeks. Whilst the Bails is private and seperate, from time to time you may hear, see and experience the normal sights and sounds of farm life. We will respect your privacy, however I love to connect with new people and have a chat, and am happy to be available to provide recomendations on walks, day trips, local eateries, or any questions you may have about the farm and surrounds. The Byron Bay Hinterland is a magical place, boasting many a natural wonder, and provides access to unique towns and villages. This area of the North Coast is known for its interesting characters and experiences you might not find elsewhere. From Rockwall Farm you are: 5 mins drive to the iconic Crystal Castle, a local institution. 10 mins drive to Mullumbimby, with cool vibes, awesome cafes and diverse and interesting shops. And Federal, a hip little village with the famous DOMA Japanese cafe. 10 mins drive to Goonengerry national park, with walking/mountain bike trails, waterfalls and abundant wildlife (binoculars are a must). 20 mins to Minyon Falls. Further afield (25 mins) are the awesome beaches of Byron Bay and Brunswick heads. Every weekend there is a selection of local food and craft markets within easy drive. Mullumbimbys award winning Farmers Market is on every Friday. There is very little public transport here, so guests will need to have thier own car or hire one to get around. The Bails has its own driveway. The farm has maintained walking paths that enable guests to explore the paddocks and creeks safely.
