Lovingly restored with wonderful character beams and original features throughout; plus all the comforts of home! The ground floor is open plan with dining, fully equipped kitchen and restful lounge. The first floor has a double bedroom + shower room and the top floor has a twin bedroom + bathroom. Free WiFi and a smart TV ensure you can stay connected. Externally there is an outside patio, a private deck with BBQ; and a large shared garden with plenty of chairs, tables, umbrellas and toys. The gite is located in the heart of the Haute Vienne region of the Limousin / Nouvelle Aquitaine countryside. Just 3 km from the nearest leisure lake where you can swim, hire windsurfers, paddle boards, canoes, or ride horses. In the summer months the lakeside Bistro is open and serves lovely light meals and cool beverages. Nestled within the Perigord-Limousin Park Natural, the countryside is on your doorstep ready to explore and ramble away to your hearts content; a perfect location for walking, running or cycling with quiet lanes & pathways that meander through the local hamlets. This tranquil area makes it the perfect place to sit back, relax and unwind peacefully watching the world pass you by from sunrise to sunset. La Haute has a gravelled patio in front of the gite with table, chairs and umbrella. New for 2021 is an outdoor "seating and eating" deck at the top of the main garden, solely for the use of La Haute with gas Plancha / BBQ. The large main garden is shared with just one other family. It is simply laid out so that you can relax or play, with picnic tables and umbrellas, chairs and sun loungers. We have provided a few facilities for our younger (or older) guests including table tennis, soft archery, badminton, bats and balls etc. We live on site and are on hand to answer all those little questions; but we are totally respectful of your privacy and your space. We are there only if you need us. We are situated within the Perigord-Limousin Park Natural, an area designated for its outstanding beauty, wildlife, lakes, small castles and chateau. Immerse yourself in a totally relaxing holiday. Enjoy the simple pleasures of life with family or friends; exploring the countryside and small towns or, simply relax and unwind. You really do need a car to make the most of your holiday; if you come by plane or train, it is easy to rent one from the airports or station. We are 10 minutes from the nearest shops. The roads are a cyclists dream; they are long and straight, and wonderfully smooth. Bike hire is available through a local company who deliver to the door. Prices range from 75€ to 90€ per night, for the whole building dependent on season. We offer shorter stays throughout the whole year, starting from just 3 nights. We are flexible on duration, arrival and departure days in this gite. La Haute is pet-friendly, if you would like to bring your fury companion please contact us to discuss before booking; there are a few house rule that "they" need to comply with. Our two gites combined comfortably sleep 8 to 10 should you wish to holiday with friends or family. Being in a rural location, mobile reception can be limited within the property, but WiFi is good and free throughout. Flexible terms for workers considered.
