Luxury lodge at foot of South Downs & near beach
Nestled at the foot of the South Downs, West Sussex, is our newly converted, luxury, eco-friendly, holiday lodge, sited on our small agricultural family run nursery. Just a few minutes walk to South Downs, 14 minutes walk to our local village pub, restaurant's and shops and 5 minutes drive to the beach. The beauty of this location is that you feel you are away from it all yet are a short distance from Arundel, Worthing, Chichester and Brighton with very close bus and train links. Honeysuckle lodge is our new luxury, eco-friendly, holiday lodge with hot tub. Situated on our rural family nursery where we specialise in growing Italian fruit and vegetables traditionally, without artificial fertilisers or chemicals. Just walk left out of our front gates and in 2 minutes you are on the National Trust South Downs public footpath leading to Highdown Hill which has amazing views of the South Coast and Highdown Gardens where you can stop for a drink in the tea rooms or eat in the restaurant/pub. The handcrafted lodge is warm and welcoming from the moment you step through the door, filled with light and natural sun. You will find Luca has handmade a lot of the furniture, with things we have salvaged over the years, from old snooker tables to telegraph poles. The open plan kitchen and living area is the heart of the home, a perfect place to entertain and cook all together. The kitchen is fully equipped, from dishwasher, panini maker, blender to a Dulce Gusto coffee machine (pods provided) and a separate utility room with washing machine, clothes airer and space for your cases and coats etc. The lounge is the ideal space to relax and unwind in, with comfy sofas to curl up on and a 50 inch smart TV with freeview, Netflix, Amazon prime and all the catch up channels. All 3 bedrooms have dreamy, soft and luxurious beds with luxury Egyptian cotton bedding, all sourced and made in the UK and all bedrooms have 40” smart TVs. Both the bathrooms are supplied with natural eco-friendly, by Faith in nature, shampoo, conditioner and body wash and luxury Egyptian cotton towels. We use eco-friendly, natural cleaning products. There is a private garden outside the lodge and balcony decking area leading direct from the lounge, with gas BBQ, table and chairs, window seat and sun loungers. The 6 person hot tub is in a private, secluded area immediately next to the lodge. We provide a welcome hamper for your arrival, including fresh eggs from our rescued chickens, the absolute necessities of tea, coffee pods, sugar, milk, washing up liquid, and some local goodies or produce from our greenhouses when in season. Honeysuckle lodge has its own private parking for 2 cars outside the lodge, with plenty more parking on the nursery. We have a travel cot and highchair and will provide if requested. The lodge has also been designed disabled friendly with large wet room for easy access, spacious bedroom, widened doorways, large spacious kitchen and lounge, we can remove the rugs and supply a ramp. We are sorry but we don’t accept Hen or Stag weekends or parties/events. **Please note there are 2 steps into the lodge, if you require a ramp for wheelchair access, please let us know when booking** Honeysuckle lodge has 2 parking spaces outside the lodge with plenty more spaces around 50 meters walk away. We live at the nursery so are around as much or as little as you need us, anything we can do to make your stay memorable just let us know before you arrive and we will always do our best to help! Walk out of our gates and our rural lane turns into the national trust South Coast footpath, leading you to Highdown Hill and all over the South Downs, perfect for walkers and cyclists or just a evening stroll. Highdown Hill is famous as a Hillfort, Roman settlement and the Millers Tomb, a historical burial site. You will also find Highdown gardens, beautiful gardens with rare plants and trees, with tea rooms, and a restaurant with bar. Highdown Hideaways is 5 minutes walk from the closest bus stop, with buses every 10 minutes and routes all over the coast from Brighton to Portsmouth, 25 minutes walk from Goring-by-sea train station and taxis are readily available.
