Beautiful stables conversion in rural location
The stables is a newly developed single story cottage in a quiet rural location close to Lundin Links. Finished & furnished to a high standard the property is well equipped with everything you will need to enjoy your stay. Fully contained garden to front and private courtyard to rear with patio & bbq area, both ideally positioned to enjoy the morning & evening sun respectively. Only a few minutes to the local beach, pub, shops & golf courses. St Andrews & the East Neuk villages are close by. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people over 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. The larger bedroom has a super king bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk in shower. The 2nd bedroom benefits from a huge window bathing the room in light, and has 2 single beds. The main bathroom has both a bath and shower and ample space for disability access. Water pressure is fantastic and hot water plentiful! The living area is open plan with east west aspect giving it lots of natural light. It benefits from a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a comfortable seating area with a TV and large sofa. The garden is immaculately kept and is fully contained - ideal for pets & small children! There is plenty of space including a grassed area, patio and bbq. There is ample parking. Access to the cottage is either through the main entrance at the front of the property or can be accessed by the back door which leads to the kitchen living area. Ideal for wheelchair access. We live close by so are available to meet guests and answer any queries or questions you may have. An ideal base from which to explore the East Neuk of Fife with its sandy beaches, coastal walks, quaint fishing villages, delicious seafood, great restaurants & pubs, and of course numerous golf courses. Easy access to St Andrews, or slightly further afield is Edinburgh, Dundee & Perth. Local walks A short walk down a farm track from the cottage delivers you to the Woodland Trust’s Keil’s Den - an area of ancient woodland with a good network of paths for nature walks. Benches are dotted along the paths and burn making restful spots for views and picnics. Depending on when you visit you will often see the woodland blanketed with bluebells, woodrush, dog's mercury and wild garlic. Climb Largo Law continue through Keil’s Den and follow the footpath to the top end of Upper Largo to start the short but steep climb up Largo Law. At the summit you will get fantastic views of Fife, the Firth of Forth and across to East Lothian. You can of course also drive and park in Upper Largo to make this a shorter walk. Largo & Lundin Links Just down the road is Largo, a quaint little fishing village with a pretty harbour and a long beach. The real Robinson Crusoe, Alexander Selkirk, was born and lived here and there is a statue in Main Street to mark the site of his birthplace. The Hotel and restaurant on the harbour is named The Crusoe, and a few steps from there is the welcoming local pub the Railway Inn. There is golfing in Lundin Links with both an 18 hole course and also a nine hole Ladies Golf course. The ladies golf course is the unusual location of the Standing Stones of Lundin - 3 proud standing stones dating back to the Bronze Age (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) BC) and are thought to be part of a wider stone circle. Legend has it that druids used the area for rituals. The best time to view them is very early in the morning or as the last light dips behind the hills - unless you are playing a round of golf! There is also a tennis club in Lundin Links where visitors are very welcome, and a play park for children. Other attractions close by: - Fife Heritage Railway, open Tuesdays and Saturdays, is a real treat for rail enthusiasts. - The Isle of May nature reserve, a haven for nesting sea birds in the Firth of Forth. - Elie Watersports offers a wide variety of water sports on an award winning beach and sheltered bay. - You will also find yourself only 5 miles away from Ceres and the Fife Pilgrims Way. - St. Andrews is only a 20 minute drive away - known for its award winning beach, many golf courses, the British Golf Museum, St Andrews Castle with its medieval bottle dungeon, cathedral and the University of St. Andrews, founded in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Pets are very welcome, we just ask that they are kept off the furniture, and are not left unattended in the property. A maximum of 2 dogs are permitted per booking. Guests must provide the numbers of persons who will be staying in the cottage when booking. Travel cot and high chair can be provided free of charge. Please let us know when booking. We will be as flexible as we can with check in/out times depending on other bookings. Please do not smoke in the cottage.
