A&A cottage and garden, Kalavasos, Cyprus

A&A Cottage is a 2-bedroom country house set near traditional Kalavasos village, in a peaceful location with beautiful mountain views. You can drive to the closest beach in 15 min. The cottage may be an ideal holiday place if you love nature, want to escape busy tourist resorts or enjoy the privacy and space of own house and garden. Kalavasos is 40 min drive from Larnaca, 25 min from Limassol, 50 min from the capital Nicosia - a great location for exploring Cyprus. Andreas and Antonia, my parents in law built the cottage as their weekend house and planted the garden about 20 years ago. They would call it their paradise...because of the beauty of the surroundings, the garden, and the relaxing feel this place has. The cottage is 80 m2 and is set on a plot of around 5000 m2. The garden has olive, citrus (orange, mandarine, grapefruit), nut and other trees. The guests are welcome to walk around the garden and taste the fruit (when in season). There are 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room with kitchen. Bedroom 1: 1 double bed (140 cm), wardrobe. Bedroom 2: 2 single beds (105 cm each), wardrobe. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. Living room provides 2 sofas, an armchair, TV (local and satellite channels) and a dining table with 6 chairs. A fireplace will keep you warm and cosy on colder days (wood is available), while a fan can be provided in summer. The living room is connected to the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped: gas stove, electric oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, pots, cutlery, etc. Washing machine. There is a traditional oven in the yard, as well as simple BBQ facilities. The bathroom has a shower, sink and WC. A hairdryer is provided. There is also a separate toilet with a sink outside, in the garden. An iron and ironing board are provided. Free Wifi is available. The cottage has a covered furnished terrace - the best place to enjoy the morning coffee with a view... The plot is fenced and has 2 gates. There is sufficient parking space in the yard. The house can comfortably host 4 persons (+ a baby - baby cot and high chair can be provided on request - please ask in advance). One of the sofas in the living room can be turned into a bed (130 cm wide) and additional 1-2 persons can sleep there (if air-conditioning is not required). A fan can be provided. We will send detailed instructions on how to reach the cottage, and may meet you in Kalavasos or any other nearby village and show the way to the house. The guests will have a full access to the whole cottage. You are welcome to walk around the garden. We will meet the guests at check-in and will answer any questions. We do not live on-site, the cottage will be for exclusive use of the guests (we may need to come to water the garden). You can always contact us by phone, Viber, etc. We speak English, Greek, Russian, Lithuanian. Kalavasos village belongs to Larnaca region. It's a beautiful traditional village, with several shops, taverns and cafes. Other villages of mountainous Larnaca region include Tochni, Choirokoitia, Kato Drys, Lefkara, etc. We can advise on scenic routes, sights, local producers, to make the best of your time in Larnaca region and in Cyprus. The closest bus stop is in Kalavasos village. The cottage is best reached by car. It is located 3 km from Kalavasos village, on the way to Kalavasos Dam. The road going to the Dam passes about 100 m from the house. This last 100m drive is soil road but the cottage is easily accessible by any type of car. The house is in a quiet rural area, there are no immediate neighbours, but you can drive to the village in 5 min. The closest beach is about 15 min drive away. For guests with children: please let us know the age of your children (we'd be happy to provide baby cot and high chair, as well as some toys) and any special requests you may have. Please note that from the terrace there are stairs to the garden (no gate). There are no stairs inside the cottage.
