The On Belay Chalet

The On Belay Chalet was built in 2016 on a hillside, nestled in the pines with incredible views of the Ozark Mountains. Less than 2 miles from Jasper and a short 6-mile drive to Horse Shoe Canyon Ranch, this chalet is a nature lover's dream. Situated on 13 steep acres, very private with easy access to town and all nearby outdoor activities. Enjoy the deck, full kitchen, cathedral ceiling, jetted tub, wood burning stove, washer/dryer and beautiful scenery, including sunrise mountain views. On Belay Definition: to attach (a rope) to something so that it is secure: to attach a secure rope to (a person) for safety. We are delighted to offer our home to you - We have you "on belay". We are close to town and all the nearby local amenities for hiking, canoeing/kayaking or our favorite, rock climbing! Update (9/2020): We now have satellite wi-fi (internet only, no tv). Network/Key information can be found on the check in/check out instruction sheet located on the kitchen bar counter and/or fridge. You will have access to the entire cabin, deck and yard. Please note there are outdoor security cameras for the entrances to the cabin. There is a stone shelter on the property, if it is unlocked and you don't mind some cobwebs, please feel free to go in, just make sure the door is closed upon leaving. This was used to store TNT for the co-op when they were building the roads back in the 50s, before we converted it for camping. We are just a text message away in case any thing comes up that you need to discuss. The mountain views from the kitchen, living room and master bedroom are simply stunning, whether it is watching the sunrise or star gazing the Milky Way. We can never get enough of the peacefulness looking out across the valley and in late Fall and Winter, Round Top Mountain is visible too! The guest bedrooms are settled in with the pines and also offer their own serenity. A car is needed to drive a short-distance to town, the crag, the river or the many, many hiking trails. Our kitchen is fully stocked with the essentials, prepare your own meals or we recommend visiting the nearby restaurants in Jasper and Low Gap.
