Le Pigeonnier
Welcome to Le Pigeonnier, our ancient stone house nestle in the middle of the vineyards of the Beaujolais! You will enjoy authentic French living style as well as an unforgettable experience in our cosy home. An ideal base from which to explore as well as being an idyllic spot in which to relax ! Our ‘’pigeonnier’’ (pigeon house !) is a renovated 17th century stonehouse which was once part of the Château de Corcelles, 300m as the crow flies (a 10 minutes walk). A local legend says there is still a hidden tunnel between our home and the castle… we haven’t found it yet, maybe you will! The house is divided on 4 levels : - a kitchen-dining room, a cellar, a toilet and a laundry room - a large lounge area with the TV and a fireplace, the bathroom - 2 bedrooms (1 double bed, 1 with 2 singles) : pictures will soon be updated, another toilet and a playing area (with kids games) - 1 bedroom with a large bed The garden is fully equiped : secured pool, plancha, terrasse with view, swing, hammock... The swimming pool is opened from late May until end of September. Please note that the stairs throughout the house are not secured for small children. Please don't hesitate to ask us any question, we'll be happy to answer you very soon ! You will have many things to discover nearby starting with local winemakers! Our village is right in the middle of Beaujolais, with nice wines as Morgon, Fleurie, Chiroubles or Saint Amour. We’re also only a few kilometres from Burgundy where you can visit very beautiful places like Beaune. We will be happy to put you in touch with our friends cultivating vineyards and producing their wine. Rich in tourist activities (walking, cycling, golf, ultra-light planes, hot air balloon…), the surrounding area also provides an ideal opportunity to discover the beautiful and gastronomic city of Lyon and numerous historic sites like Cluny and Beaune. Lyon is only 45 minutes away (by car or train), Macon 30 minutes and Paris 1h30 by TGV. The house is set amidst a hill and accessible through a little path easily accessible by car. The good thing is that even if our home seems isolated, the centre of the village is only 5 minutes’ walk away. There is a small grocery here where you can also buy nice bread and viennoiseries! There is also a bar/restaurant where you can meet with local people. The first supermarket is only 5 minutes away by car.
