Relax on your own private patio whilst sipping on some local wine and enjoying the flowers, bird life and sunset over the mountains. Or take a short stroll to Roman Rock where you may see Bottle Nose Dolphins, Cape Fur Seals, Southern Right and Bryde's whales frolicking in the sea before having dinner at one of numerous excellent restaurants close by. Enjoy the beaches, hang gliding, snorkling, kayaking, golfing or taking a walk in Fernkloof Nature Reserve or on the magnificent 8km cliff path. With its own entrance, private patio and garden space as well as kitchenette, bathroom and living room, you won't even know we're next door. The entire Guest Cottage is yours to use. Feel free to use the garden as well, let us know if you want to have a barbecue or braai as we call it and weather permitting, we'll make it happen. We're in the adjacent house, available if required, but not in your way. You have your privacy and we have ours. If you would like to tell us more about yourselves and find out more about this picturesque town called Hermanus over a bottle of wine or around a braai (barbeque), we're always happy to socialize. Our cottage is a 5 minute walk from the town centre, but rather take the extra 5 minutes and enjoy the scenic walk along the cliff path. Whale watching, coffee shops, bars, museums, you'll find it all in town. The beaches are a 5 minute drive away and there is a large tidal pool about a 7 minute walk away. The wild life, birds and "fynbos" vegetation along the coast and in the mountains are unique. There are more plant species in our surrounding mountains than in the entire United Kingdom. If you are interested, a guided tour through the Fernkloof Nature Reserve or along the cliff path can be arranged. You can park on the premises. There is a taxi service in town and three car rental companies operate from Hermanus. The Baz Bus stops in Hermanus. The Wine Hopper will transport you from one wine estate and restaurant to another in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde (Heaven and Earth) valley to the north of the town. We have a camping cot, baby bath and high chair available. We recently adopted Benji, a two year-old Labrador who is very friendly but tends to stay close to our side.
