The Lairds Bothy at Knockbrex Castle

Visitors to this wonderful area can stay within the grounds of Knockbrex Castle. Set next to the Castle itself is this charming cottage in the private gardens of the Castle . The area is a walkers and biking paradise and just a short walk to various beaches. Travel a little to sample the delights of the local Cream O'Galloway Ice Cream Co. or the Chocolate of the Cocoabean Company. This is a three bedroom cottage with lounge, kitchen and bathroom. We are happy for dogs to come on holiday with you but a maximum of two. Dogs must be kept under control at all times & any mess they make must be picked up. We won't always be at Knockbrex but we will leave a phone number for Susan who lives nearby and can help if you have any issues Once you have reach the post code area there is a small sign directing you to Knockbrex Castle (& Carrick Bay). The castle is about 50 meters down the road on the left side. Take the second entrance to the castle, keep to the right of the driveway (signposted Both Parking) which will take you round the back of the bothy and to parking area. Walk round to the front of the bothy, the key-safe is in the porch on the right hand side. While in the grounds of the Castle you are very welcome to explore, but we ask that you do not enter any of the garden buildings. The parking area is shared with Sea View so please be mindful of parking and don't block other cars in. There is a patio area outside The Bothy which is exclusively for your use. There is also a bigger patio area in the castle garden which is for our use but if we aren't there you are more than welcome to use it. **Although we do provide WiFi the internet is slow** Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about it, we're not happy about it either.
