Lovely Edge of Peak District Cottage
Mews Cottage is a lovely place to stay in a charming Derbyshire village on the edge of the Peak District. You’ll love this place because of the friendly hosts, Hilary and Malc, the beautiful garden, great views and the proximity of walks, pubs and the historic spa town of Matlock. Bakewell and the stunning Chatsworth House are around twenty mins drive away. Carsington Water offers watersports centre nearby. Mews Cottage is good for couples, solo adventurers and families (with a baby). Our cute cottage is a cosy space with lovely views. It sits next to our house with a shared driveway and garden which you a very welcome to enjoy. There is a tv and dvd player. It has a combi boiler for instant continuous hot water and gas central heating In addition there is an electric log burner in the lounge. The kitchen has been refurbished ready for 2021 and now includes a dishwasher along with electric cooker, microwave, fridge,freezer,toaster,kettle Fully refurbished bathroom includes bath and over bath shower. PLEASE NOTE: We keep the price low by only charging for the gas and electricity you use - paid at the end of your stay. Normal usage amounts are around £5to £10 for a weekend. You'll have the use of the whole cottage, front garden and there is space to park a car on the drive. Tansley is a lovely little village with two pubs within a five minute walk and a new nepalese restaurant. Matlock is two miles away and has a range of shops and restaurants, a leisure centre with swimming pool, an amazing steam railway (Peak Rail) during summer months and a weekly market on Wednesdays. The Peak District is a short drive away and is packed with beautiful walks, lovely pubs and a number of stately homes and world heritage sites. It's an easy drive to Chatsworth (approx 20 mins) if you enjoy the many events that go on there The beautiful Lumsdale waterfalls which is part of a world heritage site and under 25 minutes walk from here Theoretically you could get a train to Matlock and then a 10 min taxi from there but you would be much better off to have a car and a means of exploring the local area. Wifi - Is available but can vary a bit. Vodaphone is good but other networks vary Our landline can always be used for emergencies or ordering takeaways when we are at home if your mobile reception is poor
