Immerse yourself in the Kalgoorlie of old in a delightful and iconic house, Allora. Allora's rooms are quiet, relaxing and homely, ideal for travellers and business professionals. Allora House has 3 listings each has a queen bed with reverse cycle air con and flat screen TVs. The rooms share a well appointed lounge, bathroom, kitchenette and secure car parking. Our unique Guest House is heritage listed and has been lovingly restored to showcase the magnificent high ceilings, leadlights, polished floor boards – as well as the modern bathroom, kitchen and air conditioning for guests to enjoy! Allora is the Italian word for affection and fittingly named when the house was built by JD Connolly and offered as a gift from the owner to his future wife as an engagement present. Allora house was built between 1897 and 1940. The guest enjoy the fully renovated 1940s area of 3 queen size bedrooms all connected to the shared lounge and dining room. The kitchenette and bathroom also can be accessed from the shared space. We have restored to area with handmade jarrah doors, high ceilings, antique furniture from the period 1900 to 1940s styles. We provide keys to your room, the space and an automatic gate opener for guests parking on premises. If these are lost or damaged, they will be replaced at guests cost. Please note Allora house does not provide breakfast, though there is a well equipped kitchenette and a supermarket a block away from us. The kitchenette is modern and well appointed, with microwave, sink, kettle, toaster, iron, ironing board, cutlery, crockery, full size fridge, cutting board, cupboard storage for your groceries, knives, bottle opener, salad bowl, etc to enjoy making your meals and your stay. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV, reverse cycle air conditioning and modern ensemble bed to accompany restored furniture sympathetic to the period of the house. We have been fortunate, sourcing furniture that spent its life in the Goldfields. our linen is Australian made a sustainably produced. Our lounge/dining area has a chaise lounge, lounge suite, full size TV and sound system, coffee table, and a dining table with 4 chairs. The lounge/dining area overlooks the garden, we have a wide veranda opening onto a sheltered garden. We have heritage plants, seasonal herbs and vegetables to enjoy as a backdrop. Lovely to watch the changes of season within the garden. Relaxing in antique folding chairs and garden benches. Making your visit more comfortable we have free wifi, maps of our area and tourism information. We enjoy greeting our guests, sharing information on the heritage, good food, fun things to do and information our wider region. If you would like to book all 3 bedrooms, please book all rooms, or alternately make contact to see if it is possible. Located 2 blocks from the main street, 1 block from the railway station, over the road from restaurants and others a short walk. We are a quiet place to while away the hours and enjoy an immersion into history. We have renovated back to the original feel of the house and era. We like showing off the depth and diversity of our rich heritage and our region. Entering the space is easy from the street. Walking from the parking along the wide veranda, through the garden. The garden door enters into the lounge dining area, through a lockable security sliding door. The guests are provided a key to their room and the garden door. We have parking on site and on the street. Allora house provides guests with safe secure off street parking, shared laundry, kitchenette, shared dining areas, lounge and BBQ/outdoor garden entertainment areas. As guests check in, let us know arrival time so we can meet you. As guests check out, lock room and security door. Then either: * make contact and hand over keys, or * organise beforehand to put keys in the lockbox. We enjoy sharing our hospitality and pride in our region with our guests. We like showcasing the local area and matching interests to the best local interest spots. Quiet and secure neighbourhood. Close to good restaurants and the main street Our location allows for walking to the main street and a few of the attractions of town. Hiring a car, or taxi cabbing around town is the easiest. With adventure trips outside our town to experience the striking bush would usually require a 4WD. We are a very quiet oasis in the middle of town, with fountains and birds in the garden. Outside pets only, by prior arrangement. There are 2 supermarkets a block away to buy breakfast groceries, or cafes are just a short walk away.
