Holiday Special ....We can provide geese turkey and chicken plus wine and liquors all from our own farm and join us for a sumptuous Holiday meal! (for a very reasonable contribution) Three Bedrooms (maximum 6 persons) with private bathroom available in a holiday home situated in a quaint rustic Tuscan hilltop village surrounded by forest. Near to Lucca. Two double rooms & the other room two singles. Home grown food available for meals The house is nestled in a small hilltop Tuscan village, friendly and fully accessible by car, free parking is just 75m from the house. The front terrazza has lovely views over the surrounding hills and fields and is ideal for a evening drink, serenaded by the numerous swallows that flit about. Enjoy walks in the forest and the peaceful ambience of a small agricultural village steeped in history, whilst only a short drive from Borgo a Mozzano, Bagni di Lucca, Lucca and Barga, with lots of lovely small villages in between. Keep a eye out when travelling along the valley road for notices advertising small fiestas throughout the summer months. Home grown food available for breakfast Cheese and wine making classes in season are also available upon request. If you are traveling by Train or bus we can pick you up at Borgo a Mozzano Station for a small charge to cover fuel. Free WiFi and hairdryer Guests are able after checking to enjoy ease of coming and going from the house, a key safe is provided for access, whilst the kitchen is not available with sufficient notice breakfast and evening meal with wine can be provided, the fresh vegetables come from the house gardens. Your hosts are happy to assist you during your stay with information of the local area. Motrone was known in times of old as the eyes of Lucca and afforded waring fractions a vista in most directions keeping the inhabitants safe - today Motrone retains much of its old charm. A peaceful, friendly place from where you can launch your tour of Tuscany, especially Lucca and the upper Serchio Valley, incorporating visits to the Devils bridge at Borgo a Mozzano, the termal spa at Bagni di Lucca, rotto del Vento (cave of the winds) the old city of Barga and its Cathedral, and not forgetting the Castelnuovo and Castiglione. Many of the numerous small towns in the area have open air markets at least one day of the week, and again don't forget to look out for the advertising on the main road advertising fiestas during the summer months. Home grown and cooked Dinner including wine and liqueurs is available upon request at 12.50 Euros set price per person includes wine and breakfast at 4 Euro per person...There are also Restaurants in the valley about 35 minutes drive away. Access to the village is by car, however for those wishing to journey further afield during their visit they have the option of driving to local railway stations and taking regional trains to the larger cities such as Lucca, Florence and Pisa. This is especially a good option as you do not have to worry about parking and maybe straying into bus lanes or limited access areas. Most of the larger cities have numerous methods of getting around once you are their, including bike hire, this is especially popular in Lucca where you can hire a bike for a hour or two and ride atop the old city walls. Motrone water is the best in the world - well we think it is, fully potable.
