Located in the picturesque and peaceful bay of Port Levy on the Banks Peninsula, an hour from Christchurch and the Airport, making it an ideal place to stop and re-charge your batteries after a long haul flight. Modern spacious bedroom opening out onto lawns and gardens with fantastic and views across the bay. (we have an additional double room available) Choice of 5 cooked breakfasts. We also provide an evening meal for $30 p.p., or, 3 course dinner for $45. Vegetarians/Vegans catered for. Our modern home is set in beautiful gardens, offering guests, peace, tranquility and stunning views across the bay. Our home is part of Port Levy Pine Nuts, a boutique operation producing Pine Nuts and other products from Pine Nuts, so come and see how they are processed. Our home also offers numerous external areas for relaxation as well as a hot tub for you to enjoy (so bring your togs). A private volcanic beach is accessed from the bottom of our garden. Driving from Port Levy to Little River and onto Akaroa, returning via Pigeon Bay, offers some fantastic views of the bays and the Kaikoura Mountains. Alternatively you can climb Mount Herbert and see if you can view Mount Cook in the distance. Please note we do have an additional double bedroom located on the ground floor available for families of 3 or 4, or, 2 couples travelling together, priced at $65 per person. Please enquire when making your reservation. Your own double bedroom with private access and en suite bathroom . Complimentary Tea, Coffee, Bottled Water and Home Made Biscuits, a fridge is also located off your bedroom. Guests have access to the sun deck, gardens, lounge and outside dining area, where you can enjoy views towards the heads and across the Bay to the settlement of Parua and Horomaka Island. French windows from the bedroom open out onto lawns with outdoor seating. Private bathroom with shower & bath. Bedroom has DVD/CD player with assorted films and music. Although Verity and I live here we allow our guests total freedom of the house and give you your own personal space, however, we are here to share stories over a glass of wine, if you desire. Why not try your hand at fishing, we will loan you a couple of rods and bait and fillet the fish should you catch the big one!! We also have a couple of mountain bikes available for you to ride the various tracks around the bay and Banks Peninsula, or, just relax in the spa pool overlooking the Bay. Port Levy is a long and sheltered bay on the Banks Pennisula and is part of the conservation area and area of oustanding natural beauty. Fifty Minutes drive from Christchurch, or Akaroa, or 25 minutes from Diamond Harbour via the Black Cat ferry from Lyttleton. Recently the film 'Z for Zacharia' were filmed in Port Levy. The film starring Margot Robbie, Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor. For those of you without a car, or prefer not to drive, we can collect you from the Diamond Harbour Ferry that operates an hourly service from Lyttleton, this service connects with the bus at Lyttleton to central Christchurch. (half hourly during peak times). We charge $40 return for this service. Although called Port Levy, this is not a Port, we are quite remote, there are no shops, restaurants, bars or petrol stations, so ensure you fill up with fuel and get your supplies, prior to leaving Christchurch. The nearest restaurant is a 25 minute drive away, but, we offer evening meals at $30 per person, or, a 3 course dinner at $45 per person, served indoors, or, outside, overlooking the bay and surrounding mountains. All food is prepared fresh by ourselves. The rate is for one double room for 2 people, per night. If there is 3 or 4 in your family, or, you are 2 couples we do have an additional room that is available at $65 per person. Please enquire when making your reservation.
