Stunning views across the Auxois countryside from both house and garden. Very comfortable double bedroom with private entrance & ensuite bathroom in a sleepy hamlet. The heated garden kitchen can be enjoyed year round providing simple cooking facilities, dining table and armchairs. There is an area for alfresco meals, a small herb garden & deck chairs to enjoy the spectacular views; off road parking. The owners, Bill and Jenny who live next door are very discreet but always on hand to help. A real feeling of being away from it all in rolling countryside with plenty to visit nearby - so peaceful! Epoisses Château and its delicious cheese (5 minutes) Medieval town of Semur-en-Auxois (15 minutes) Cistercian Abbey of Fontenay - UNESCO heritage site (20 minutes) Noyers-sur-Serein (25 minutes) Morvan national park (1/2 hour to St Agnan Lake) Flavigny hilltop village (where 'Chocolat' was filmed, 25 minutes) Avallon (25 minutes) Chablis and neighbouring wine villages (40 minutes) Vézelay (40 minutes) Beaune and Dijon (both 1 hour) For a city fix, Paris is just 60 minutes away on the high speed TGV from Montbard Courtyard, bedroom and bathroom, lovely enclosed kitchen in the garden and plenty of space to relax on the lawn or in the shade of the trees. Owners will never intrude but live next door and when around will be happy to help with planning your stay if you wish. Home cooked meals often available upon request. Typical green Burgundian rolling countryside - very peaceful with no industry, major roads or train lines. There must be magic in the air as many of our guests return year after year! There is no public transport serving Tivauche. Arriving by car is ideal and there is plenty of off road parking in the courtyard. Nearest train station is Montbard (15kms) which is the best bet for biking to the property. More choice of trains however and all car rental companies at Dijon (1 hour drive from the house). We will supply a simple breakfast basket along with the makings for tea and coffee.
