COVID vaccination pass for all eligible guests required to stay. If you are unwell, please stay home and get a COVID test. Newly renovated downstairs STUDIO unit. Located next to the motorway and you can hear some of this noise inside the unit. Best for 1-2 guests, but can snugly accommodate up to 4. We are located at the bottom of a steep hill, which may be a challenge for some. Conveniently located on the Auckland cycleway. Walking distance to Eden Park. Fully vaccinated guests are welcome at this time. We hope you feel at home in our guest suite! Lower level unit below our main house where we live. Please note, this is a studio apartment (NOT separate rooms!). This space is best for 1-2 people, but can accommodate up to 4 on the pull out sofa bed. There is an extra charge for the third and fourth person (including children). Relaxed check out time of 11am and flexible check in time after 3pm. Please note that we live next to the motorway, and you can hear some of this noise from inside the unit. Our place is very much in an urban setting, so if you are looking for a quiet experience, this may not be the place for you. Please also note that we live at the bottom of a steep hill, which you will have to climb to reach the train station, buses and Kingsland Centre if this may be an issue for you (15 minute walk). This is a downstairs unit that still receives some sunlight. We are happy to accommodate you if you want to drop your bags before 3pm check in. Queen size bed with new linens and lovely garden view of our feijoa and plum trees (which you are free to help yourself to when in season!) If you look closely, you may see Monarch butterflies flying around the plum tree. Fold-out double size sofa bed in lounge area. Dining table that can also be used as a workspace. Studio has a kitchenette for your use with sink, cutlery and dishes and kettle. Gourmet coffee, drinking chocolate, standard and a range of herbal teas are provided. PLEASE NOTE: There is no hot plate in this unit, kettle, microwave and toaster oven only. Bathroom has shower and rare to find washer/dryer combo unit for your private use. Quality eco-friendly laundry detergent and toiletries provided. If you forget something (toothbrush, toothpaste etc.) we may be able to provide these for you, just ask! You have access to your private studio apartment and lawn area. There is a washing line for your personal use. Your parking spot located at the back of the house, adjacent to the unit. Please let us know if you would like to borrow the BBQ which is located up on our patio and we’ll see what we can do for you! We will leave the key for you in a lockbox and will give you as much privacy as you would like. We are available to assist on check in if you prefer :)! But please do not hesitate to knock on our door or text/call and ask for anything you might need (kitchen essentials, spices, extra linens etc.)! We are here to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. There are a lot of yummy cafes, restaurants and pubs in Kingsland to check out. The closest cafes are: Harlan Pepper Food Co. (just at the top of our street), Baker’s Cottage (for some of the best sandwiches and cupcakes in town!) and Bluebell’s Cakery for yummy treats. In Kingsland town: Citizen Park has a great outdoor area, Portland Public House often has live music and great food and drinks, The Kingslander, Flight 605 has music on occasion and Atomic Coffee Roasters. Garage Project Cellar Door is right up the road for delicious beers! Check out Mixt Art Gallery for artworks and souvenirs made by New Zealand local artists. One car park is included in your stay-- additional parking available upon request. 5 minute walk to major bus routes. 15 minute walk (uphill) to Mt Eden Train station. We are centrally located and within walking distance to other neighbourhoods: Grey Lynn, Karangahape “K” Road, Mt. Eden (20 mins), Ponsonby (30 mins). 30 minute walk to the city centre. Uber is available in Auckland and and a good option if the weather is poor or you need to get somewhere in a hurry. Cycling is growing in popularity in Auckland. If you are comfortable on a bike, the cycleway is literally a few steps from your door. Bicycle storage, pump, accessories and tools are available for your use, just ask! Our bathroom plumbing relies on an extremely sensitive sewage waste pump to function. Please do not flush anything down the toilet other than toilet paper! Any other items (including feminine products, disposable wipes, paper towels, etc.) will jam the pump. You WILL be charged for the plumber call-out fee if you ignore this rule! Our small family lives upstairs. You may may hear us walking around and our stereo at times. We also ask that you do not smoke near our property and have no loud parties or events in our space. Please note that we are located by the motorway and the cycleway. The noise is somewhat buffered inside, but this is definitely an urban environment. There are a few steps down to your unit. We are located at the bottom of a pretty steep hill, so this may be an issue for some.
