We are The Salty Pelican Yoga & Surf Retreat. It’s a place where there's a great opportunity to connect with a collective bunch of feel-good people looking for a dose of health, inspiration, good vibes and good times. So kick-up your feet... grab a cold sangria and really enjoy the spectacular BBQ sunset dinners here. With over 300 days of sun per year, you spend most of your time outdoors, even in winter. We are located at the perfect spot, just over 600m walk from both the beach and closest train station of Monte Estoril (2nd last stop before Cascais centre). Here you will find the beautiful seaside promenade where you can enjoy daily walks along the stunning coastline. There is quite a few restaurants all a few minutes walk away, including a really nice tapas restaurant, fish restaurant and a few cafes with really good coffee and pastries. There is also a bank, bar and supermarket conveniently located near by. The Salty Pelican has a beautiful garden where you can relax all day in either the sun or shade whilst enjoying a good book, refreshing sangria or just meeting new friends. In the evenings the garden is a good place to socialise after an active day of sun and surf with some relaxing music. A delicious healthy breakfast buffet (optional extra €9) is served each morning with some freshly baked bread, freshly cut fruits, natural yogurts, vegetable slices, jams, muesli & cereals, dried fruits, mixed nuts, chia seeds, cheeses, hams, freshly baked pastries, coffee, soy milk, herbal detox teas and fruit infused water. Nice, peaceful, quiet and not a lot of road traffic. The public bus stop is just 90 metres from our property which takes you directly to the historical centre or Sintra where you can have access to all the amazing national park palaces and churches. *** All yoga classes, surf lessons and other activities are not included in the booking price but can be booked separately once you have checked in at additional charges. Yoga classes cost €20 per class. Yoga…. Our Surf & Yoga Package offers an excellent detailed introduction to Yin & Yang yoga for beginners and the chance to dive deeper into more advanced practice for more experienced yogis. You don’t need any earlier yoga experience or your own equipment, just bring comfortable clothes to wear. * There is no yoga scheduled all day Monday or on Thursday afternoons but it's the perfect time to go exploring Sintra national Park or join our sunset meditation hike. Sunset Meditation Hike…. We try to usually organise this sunset meditation hike every Monday and Thursdays. We take you to one of the most beautiful and remote beaches in Portugal. Where we will practice meditation right on the sand with an amazing sunset, small snacks and wine to finish. Truly an experience you don't want to miss. This activity is not included in the price of the package. Please note the hike depends on weather and seasons, sometimes the hike may be cancelled due to unfavourable conditions. Evening Activities…. We try to organise a different activity most nights of the week. From Portuguese Tapas & Wine nights, Sunset Paddle Boarding tour, to our famous seafood BBQ nights. Our aim is to bring all our guests together to socialise and connect with each other over the time you are here with us. All these activities are optional extras. Lisbon International Airport Transfers…. We can organise a private airport transfers that take just 25 min to reach The Salty Pelican, the price is €50 one way or €90 return (includes up to 4 person per car). It is also an easy train ride via Lisbon to Cascais that takes approximately 85 minutes with 2 changes. When you choose to arrive by train to Cascais, please make sure you get off at the 2nd last stop of "Monte Estoril", from there its a 7min walk slightly uphill. * The city tourism tax is €2 per guest per day up until 7 nights maximum. This amount will not be added to your invoice and you pay the amount at check-in. * The optional breakfast buffet is not included in the price, the charge is €9 p.p. per day.
