The Retreat (MAXIMUM OF 4 GUESTS ONLY)

The Retreat new for 2018 includes: Spacious open plan living room and kitchen, freeview 65" T.V in lounge, pool table, 2 bedrooms both have super kingsize beds which can separate into single beds if necessary, main bathroom which includes a spa jazuzzi bath, large walk in shower and twin sinks with heated flooring and towel rail, an additional separate toilet, gas central heating throughout and gated secure off road parking. Jacuzzi. The internet speed can be slow and intermittent. We have a strict rule of a non-smoking policy inside the Retreat but please feel free to smoke outside. There is a chrome ashtray on the blue graveled area to dispose of cigarettes. The kitchen appliances included are; Cookers, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, kettle, toaster and microwave. Please note: Items left behind will incur a minimum charge of £5.00 to be returned. • HOT TUB USER GUIDE & SIMPLE RULES TO FOLLOW • Hot tub is permitted for use between the hours of 12 noon and 11.30pm. Please be considerate to guests in the neighbouring properties • Water temperatures between 34°C - 35°C are recommended • Bathers must not exceed the maximum number permitted in the spa pool (4) • Children under 10 must not use the spa pool and must be accompanied by an adult • Bathers must not wear fake tan, lotions, oils, makeup, shampoos or skin creams in the spa pool • Bathers must use the toilet and shower before entering the spa pool • In the event a daily test result shows a negative result the hot tub may need to be closed until such time the hot tub is safe for use • Bathers must not use the spa pool if they have had diarrhoea within the last 14 days • Bathers are discouraged from swallowing the spa pool water • It is recommended that bathers do not exceed 15 minutes immersion at a time • No incontinent person may use the spa pool, either with or without a waterproof nappy • It is recommended that the spa pool is not used after a heavy meal or while under the influence of alcohol or sedatives • Intended users suffering from diseases of the heart and circulation, skin conditions, are immuno-suppressed, subject to fits, or taking drugs affecting the cardiovascular or nervous systems, should not use spa pools without first seeking medical advice • Pregnant women are advised to consult with their doctor before using a spa pool • Never use the hot tub while using or after using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness or raise/lower blood pressure • At 39-40°C limit your time in the hot tub to a maximum of 20 minutes as extending this time can affect your inner organs and cause fever like conditions. At 36-37°C this time can be extended as this is body temperature and there is no risk and can heighten the dangers of drowning due to suction below the water line • Never use the hot tub alone • Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub. When leaving the hot tub, leg muscles may be relaxed enough to make you unsteady • If any allergic reaction occurs leave the hot tub and rinse off in the shower. If the reaction persists, contact the owner or go to a local doctor or A&E • Avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal • Avoid entering the hot tub water immediately after exercising as the water temperature can affect the heart rate • Take care on the hot tub steps as water from the tub can cause it to be slippery • Avoid soaking in the hot tub if you have cuts. • Shower before and after using the hot tub. Showering before use washes away many of the common skin bacteria and removes lotions, deodorants, creams etc. which reduce the effectiveness of the spa sanitizer which disinfects the water • When not in use, make sure the cover is on and secured • DO Brush any mud/grit from your feet before entering the water • DO NOT use oils, soaps or any detergent in the water • DO NOT use glassware in the Tub • DO NOT eat food or Smoke in the Tub • DO NOT immerse your head in the hot tub water. This increases the risk of infection • DO NOT introduce mud, stones, sticks, grit etc. into the water • DO NOT jump/dive into the water or play ball games • DO NOT sit, stand or lie on the lid or external edge of the Hot Tub at any time; or allow children on the lid • Never use street clothes in the spa Name…………………….………….. Date……..…… Operating Instructions • Unfasten the clips at the front and back of the spa (4 total) before opening the lid • DO NOT lift the Lid using the skirt, central insulating tabs or locking straps; use only the lifting mechanism provided and place the lid carefully in the space behind the Tub • DO NOT close the lid by pulling the skirt down around the edge. • NEVER close the lid with bathers in the tub • DO use the mechanism provided and fix the clips on the 4 locking straps. This is what keeps the water hot when not in use • DO NOT press more than one button at once (or it will be cold next time you want to use it). Use only brief pressure on buttons • DO NOT turn hot tub isolation switch off as the hot tub's power needs to be turned on to carry out the cleaning cycles • DO NOT continuously press 'Lights' • Make sure the 3 black round jets with no air writing on are switched off • DO NOT sit or lean on the black filter • Turn on/off speakers using Bluetooth YS-LY103 • Make sure all the jets/blowers/tub are switched off before closing the lid • VERY IMPORTANT – PLEASE NOTE • You use the Hot Tub at your own risk • The owner cannot be held responsible for your safety whilst you are using the Hot Tub We are contactable on our mobile phones. We are usually around onsite. The Retreat is situated only 500 meters from Goosedale Wedding & Conference Venue, which is an ideal place to stay if you are attending a wedding there. Hucknall is a small town which includes a selection of shops, banks, boots chemist, butchers, bakery, library, church, chip shops, Indian takeaways, pizza hut, many pubs and cafes. Childrens park at Papplewick village hall - 3 minutes away Griffins Head pub and restaurant - 3 minutes away Hucknall Leisure Centre - 3 minutes away Tesco and Aldi are close to Hucknall - 8 minutes away. Tesco also has a petrol station. For walks / cycle rides and days out Nottingham City Centre - 22 minutes away Sherwood Forest - 40 minutes away Clumber Park - 50 minutes away Rufford Park - 30 minutes away Newstead Abbey - 10 minutes away Mill Lakes - 5 minutes away Bestwood Duck ponds is only 200 meters away, which has 5 course & carp fishing lakes. Day fishing can be arranged at an additional cost. Goosedale pond day fishing can be arranged at an additional cost. Bus stop directly outside and goes to Hucknall, Mansfield, Sutton and Nottingham (141) The train and tram stops are conveniently located at Hucknall (8 min away) Several taxi firms within the local area. Please note: We currently have our home being renovated, which is on the land near the retreat. This has no impact on the retreat. There may be slight noise in the week, but nothing that will disrupt your stay and hasn’t bothered any past guests. The Retreat is ideal for short stays. We are quite close to Nottingham City Hospital. If travelling from Eastmidlands Airport you can have peace of mind knowing that you can leave your vehicle in our secure area. We also offer a private transfer service to and from the airport at an additional cost.
