Dreamtime is a place for travellers where honest hospitality and a unique experience combine. Dreamtime exudes a relaxed atmosphere, its a retreat without the package if you like. Take a two minute stroll to the beach and return to your cozy room surrounded by a tropical garden or swim in our saltwater pool. Wake up with the sounds of Sri Lanka, see the native garden out of your window, taste mums amazing Sri Lankan cuisine for breakfast and feel the Dreamtime difference. Dreamtime Dalu Room is one of five tropical rooms on our property. We also have other room types (please check our other listings for availability). Our rooms embrace simplicity with a garden twist. The room is equipped with a tropical garden bathroom, minimalist bed design, queen size mattress, fan, mosquito net, safe, storage area, solar hot water shower and private outdoor terrace seating. Enjoy a complimentary delicious Sri Lankan breakfast in our communal area prepared by Mum each morning. Our newly built saltwater pool is waiting to be enjoyed. Our garden is home to an abundance of wildlife: keep an eye out for native birds, squirrels, lizards, monkeys and more! Listen to the birdsong and branches swaying in the wind. When the swell is big you can even hear waves crashing in the distance. There are so many plant varieties that we have lost count. Jungle plants are thriving and the bamboo tree is the centrepiece of our grounds. Dreamtime is the perfect place to relax and unwind and an ideal base to explore all that beautiful Hikkaduwa has to offer. Enjoy a 15 minute beach walk or 3 minute tuk-tuk ride to the main surf point. Get close to wild turtles, snorkel, dive, swim and explore local Hikkaduwa town. Guests can feel free to wander around the garden or chill by the saltwater pool. We also have free filtered water available. We are a sociable couple who live on site. When we are not out and about you will most likely find us in the garden or communal areas. We are happy to answer any questions and will do our best to make your stay pleasant and memorable. We arrange tours and are full of advice on the the what to do and where to eat in the area. As we are located slightly inland (just a two minute walk to the beach), guests get a glimpse of village life. There will be welcoming smiles and a few hellos from children on your short stroll to the ocean. We are within walking distance (400m - 2 minute walk) to a quiet part (our favourite part) of Hikkaduwa Beach. Take a 10-15min walk along the beach and you will be amongst the busiest bars, restaurants and nightlife. Let us know if you need a tuk tuk and we will happily arrange a reliable and trustworthy driver to pick you up from Dreamtime. We can also organise scooter hire as well as comfortable and reliable airport transfers. We operate a registered tour company 'Dreamtime Tours Sri Lanka' and will happily discuss and arrange tours to suit your budget and interests. Galle Fort is approximately 30 minutes away and all water activities (surfing, snorkelling, diving etc) are very accessible. We are more than happy to recommend our favourite places. Please note this is a unique space immersed in nature and not your average hotel. If you're an adventurous nature lover you will love our place! Our garden is home to lizards, squirrels and other creatures endemic to a tropical environment. This is part of the experience of staying with us and we hope you enjoy it! All linen is provided. Supun is a surf instructor and has an Australian surf instructor licence. We can organise surf lessons and packages to suit your ability. Be aware once you stand up on a wave it becomes addictive.
