A wonderful day trip is through the Karangahake Gorge – either walk or hire electric bikes from Paeroa Sportsworld. This walkway follows the gold rail trail between Paeroa and Waihi. Paeroa is known as the Antique capital of New Zealand – 30 min drive from Miranda. In the surrounding area there are numerous art and craft stores/ workshops. Ngatea Art Gallery. Metal Sculpture Gallery, Waitakaruru. Another day trip could be to Waihi to see Martha’s Gold Mine. This property is also a great location/ property for a small intimate country wedding. Just hire a free standing marquee, set this upon the lawn in front of the cottage. Plenty of parking spaces in paddock. Great photographic opportunities.
