Base Calames Gite (12 pers)

A large, well equipped house in a traquil part of the village with plenty of oudoor space and views over the mountains. Ideal for active holidays and family groups we have plenty of space and excellent facilities here at Base Calames. Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but we are happy to receive enquiries for any duration of stay. The house accommodates up to 12 people in six bedrooms spread over 2 floors. There is a bathroom and separate toilet on both floors. An open plan kitchen/diner and lounge area with balcony, wood burning stove and mountain views provides the main living area. The dining table extends to seat up to 12 and the kitchen is well equipped, and includes a dishwasher. The lounge area has comfortable seating, a TV, DVD & HIFI and free WIFI coverage throughout the house. There are boardgames, books and magazines, and DVDs for inside entertainment. Downstairs is a double garage ideal for secure storage of bikes and other outdoor equipment. There is also a second fridge & freezer, washing machine and a selection of outdoor toys and games as well as a football table. Outdoor adventure activities are one of the biggest attractions to the area with hiking, rock climbing, mountain and road biking and winter sports particularly popular. For days off from the action or for those after something a bit more relaxing the Ariège has a rich historic and cultural heritage. From the famous Cathar landmarks and prehistoric cave paintings to a wealth of towns, villages, museums and visitor attractions to discover. Water is never far away with dramatic mountain streams and crystal clear lakes in the mountains as well as some superb (and warm!) swimming lakes lower down. If you can't resist a day at the seaside, the Mediterranean coast is only 2 hours away. Bedding and towels are not included in the price and the cost will be dependent on numbers.
