Flora's Cottage is situated in the heart of historic Fishertown, the old fishing village of Nairn. It is an excellent base to explore the area, with Inverness just a 1/2 hour drive away, and 7 miles to the airport. Nairn's two golf courses are nearby, and the Cairngorms about an hour's drive. 1 double bedroom and 1 single bedroom - a pull-out bed is available to accommodate a child but the room would be too small for two adults. The cottage is dog-friendly for well-behaved pooches. Flora's Cottage is a small, traditional cottage on a quiet street in Fishertown. It has a south-facing front garden with seating to enjoy that sunset glass of wine, and a private, secure back garden with seating and space to leave any sports equipment you bring with you. With the cottage being just a few minutes walk to the beach, it is a great chance to bring your SUP or kayak, or, if golf is your thing, Nairn's two Championship golf courses are close by. There are miles of beaches and woodland to explore. There is free on-street parking at the front, and access round the back (on request) to drop off your sports equipment. On the ground floor of the cottage there is the cosy living room with gas fire, smart TV, DVD player and Freeview box. Free wi-fi. The kitchen is well-equipped with gas cooker, microwave, fridge with ice box, toaster, washing machine, tumble dryer, crockery and cutlery. The dining table seats four. From the kitchen there is access via the rear porch to the garden. The secure garden has shrub borders, mature trees and a gravel/paving area with table and chairs. There is also a washing line. Back inside, the bathroom is on the ground floor and has a shower over the bath. Shampoo/conditioner, shower gel and body lotion are provided. Upstairs is a double bedroom (king-size bed) with built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers, and a single bedroom over-looking the garden. The single room has the option of another single pullout bed and is more suitable for two children, rather than two adults, as it is a tight squeeze when both beds are out! The upper landing has further hanging and storage space. Please note that the stairs are rather steep and are not suitable for people with mobility problems. The maximum number of dogs allowed is two. Free on-street parking at the front. Access into the cottage is via myself or my husband, Ian. In the event that we are not available, access will be via a trusted neighbour. As we live next door, either myself or my husband are available at most times should you have any questions. You can contact us by message on the Airbnb platform, and we will respond as quickly as possible. Fishertown is a quaint area with a village feel and lots of streets to explore. It borders the River Nairn and The Links (where the annual Highland Games are held), and is a short stroll up to the high street. The beachfront is a few minutes’ walk away with an accessible seafront promenade. The town centre is a five minute walk, or there is free car parking in the car park next to the main Co-op supermarket. There is a regular bus service to Inverness and Elgin/Aberdeen, with a bus stop a short walk away on the A96. The bus station is about a ten minute walk away. The railway station is approximately 15 minutes away by foot or 5 mins by car. It is located on Cawdor Street. If you are bringing a dog, please provide your own bedding, and towels for drying your pet. Food bowls are available for you to use. A small dog bed is available (cocker spaniel size or equivalent).
