Spectacular 2-story guest house with 12-foot ceilings. Bedroom loft flooded with natural light. The floor-to-ceiling glass visually brings the outdoors in. Our barn-shaped guest house sits in the location of a former razed barn. The modern barn has plenty of privacy. The walls of glass bring the outside in and flood the interior with the most wonderful sunlight as well as views of the surrounding property. It is not uncommon to wake up and see deer standing right outside your full- length windows. The sleeping area on the second floor overlooks the first floor and is extremely spacious with a gambrel cathedral ceiling and large windows facing the east (sunrise side), with a great view of the field below. The guesthouse is equipped with a queen size bed for two as well as a sleeper sofa and a convertible couch for one or two small children. The kitchen is equipped with 4 burner gas cook-top, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, and all utensils and dishware. All linens and towels are provided. a gas barbecue grill, picnic table, lawn chairs, and fire pit. Fire pit, pond,, walking trails on private unpaved road/trails, free eggs from our pet chickens. We also live on this 15-acre property and are available if needed. However, you are assured privacy. We are located approximately 90 miles northwest of Manhattan in a small rural town with a population of approximately 400 and a mountain elevation of 1,400 feet. Within minutes in one direction you have pristine undeveloped forest and reservoirs which are winter nesting areas for the bald eagle. There are many opprtunities for wildlife viewing, to include deer, racoon, black bear, red fox, and possum to name a few. There are plenty of maintained hiking areas as well as an abundance of waterfalls. 10 minutes in the other direction you have food stores, local restaurants, a Walmart, and a bus station should you decide to go into Manhattan for the day without the hassle of a car. Within 10 miles is the Resorts World Casino and 14 miles we have the original site of the 1969 Woodstock festival which now hosts a 1960s interactive museum and in the summer the world-class Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center. When in season there are multiple farm markets throughout the county. The Forestburgh Playhouse is located 5 miles away, where you can attend quality summerstock theatre in an old barn. Winter fun includes ice skating, snowshoeing, and local downhill and cross country skiing. Bring your bikes, kayaks, and fishing gear. The Delaware River and Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area are nearby. You can get here by bus to a nearby town and then a 10-minute cab ride. Our place is set up for two adults with provisions for up to two small children under 12. We can accommodate two additional adult guests on a convertible couch with an additional fee per guest. Unit includes private hot tub. Hot tub is used at your own risk.
