Built around 1855, This two bedroom cottage sleeps up to four guests. Located within the traditional Welsh village of Trawsfynydd at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. The Lake Traswfynydd lake is set amongst sheep, horse & cow fields all separated by dry stone walls with a beautiful mountain range back drop that offers relaxation in abundance and all within a short walk from the cottage making this little gem certainly worth a visit. The cottage offers two bedrooms sleeping up-to four guests. The cottage has full central heating with double glazed windows & doors. You will have sole free access to the super fast WiFi. I allow one well behaved house trained pet, your pet should not be left alone within the cottage. I do charge a one off fee of £25.00 for your pet as this covers the extra cleaning required. The Lounge Exposed beams, central heating & fairy lights all set the scene offering a warm & cosy chill pad. The lounge has a 40 inch Smart TV wired to the super fast WiFi enabling the viewing of all associated free apps ‘’there is NO TV aerial’’. A DVD player & six port USB charger have also been provided. Over on the book shelf you will find a wide selection of DVDs, books, board & quiz games all provided for any evenings you want to stay in and chill. Local guide & tourist books detailing some of the attractions on offer within the National Park can also be found on the bookshelf. The Kitchen The kitchen is well equipped with a washing machine, microwave, electric hob, electric cooker, fridge, tassimo coffee maker ‘pods not supplied’, toaster, sandwich toaster, kettle, smoothie maker, cutlery & crockery and all wares needed to aid your stay. I have supplied a slow cooker enabling preparation of meals before venturing out. An Alexa has also been installed so you can listen to music whilst enjoying a glass or two of wine. The Bathroom The bathroom is fitted with a bath and over head shower. Clean fresh bath towels are supplied for guests, there is also a hair dryer for guests personal use. There is no shaving socket within the bathroom. When showering, taller guests should be mindful of the exposed beam which has been identified with a hazard sign. The Bedrooms The two rooms both have double beds. Bedroom one has a view out to rolling sheep fields whilst bedroom two looks up to the stars. Both bedrooms are centrally heated with double glazed windows, both bedrooms offer a relaxing warm cosy cottage feel. Hot water bottles are also supplied to ensure your bed can be warmed on the coldest of Welsh winter nights. Please respect your neighbours, the beautiful countryside and the tranquillity of the village. Please DO NOT litter. When crossing sheep fields down to the lake always close any gates you may go through. I hope you enjoy your stay and create some wonderful memories....! Up to a maximum of four guests will have sole access to the entire cottage. Only the guests named within each booking can access the property. During your booking guests are prohibited from allowing visitors onto the property. Street parking for one car only is permitted to the immediate front of the cottage which is free from fees or permits. Additional parking can be found at the top of the road within the village car park and again this is free from permits or fees. The garden has steep steps up to the grass area and to the upper floor of the cottage. The oil tank is also sited at the top of the garden. Outdoor seating is provided to the front of the cottage which offers views out over rolling sheep fields with dry stone walls. Your host can be contacted via the airbnb app.. The cottage is situated on the boundaries of the village of Trawsfynydd set back from a main road. Trawsfynydd is a traditional Welsh village being well placed to Lake Trawsfynydd which is surrounded by rolling fields with sheep and cows all penned in by dry stone walls with a beautiful mountainous back drop. Trawsfynydd village offers a convenience store with post office, off licence and general store which is extremely well stocked their is also a pharmacy and a second village shop selling essentials and tourist memorabilia etc. A petrol station can also be found just off the main road. The village pub is the Cross Foxes. A further three pubs are just a short drive from the cottage these being the Grapes Hotel, the Bryn Arms and the Oakley Arms Hotel all offering a decent menu with excellent service. From the cottage it’s a short walk via the village across beautiful sheep fields with their dry stone walls to snap up the eye watering lake of Trawsfynydd with its mountainous back drop you will not be disappointed..! Monday evenings around 5.30pm the mobile fish and chip van visits the village. Grab your camera, some chips and a bottle of wine and walk over to Trawsfynydd lake I promise you will slumber into the rural view. The lake can be walked, cycled or run around, it’s just over 8 miles in circumference offering bridges, a dam, mountains, rolling sheep fields with their dry stone walls and a cafe where you can sit and soak up the outstanding beauty. When out exploring the beautiful countryside it’s fields and woodlands please make sure you close all gates that you go through. Remember to take any waste back to the cottage and place in the appropriate bin. Please don’t litter the beautiful scenery of this iconic National Park. The area is accessible via car, bike or foot. A bus service also runs from the village. There are cycling, running and walking paths within the local vicinity. Within a 30 min drive you can visit Barmouth, Harlech, Dolgellau, Porthmadog, Betws Y Coed, Bala lakes and my personal favourite the beautiful Beddgelert with it’s river side walk, offering cafes, pubs and quaint little village shops. The zip line is a 15 minute drive from the cottage and is said to be the longest and fastest zip line within Europe. Booking is essential as the ride is extremely popular amongst adrenaline junkies..! Zip world has three different attractions across north Wales all offering various activities so check them out. The drive to mount Snowdon is a 40 minute drive through some beautiful rural stop and snap locations can be viewed along the way. Three pubs the Oakley Arms Hotel the Grapes Hotel and the Bryn Arms are also within a short 10 minute drive. All three pubs offer a decent menu with an excellent service at very affordable prices. When out exploring the beautiful countryside it’s fields and woodlands please make sure you close all gates that you go through. The property is not suitable for children between the ages of 0-12 years hence we apply Airbnb’s child policy to this property. Guests should be aware that there are steep steps up to the small grass area and to the upper floor of the cottage. The oil heating tank is also sited at the top of the garden. Outdoor seating has been provided to the front of the cottage for your early morning coffees. The oil fire located in the lounge is currently not to be used as is awaiting repair or replacement. The cottage is centrally heated and double glazed ensuring that cosy warm cottage feel...!
