Off grid country cottage - relax, recharge, enjoy

Delightful Storm Cottage sits within Cloudland Flower Farm – a working farm that grows beautiful seasonal flowers. The owners, Jay and Jane, have separate accommodation at the other end of the 4-acre block. Storm Cottage is totally off-grid and is run by the power of the sun and the gift of the rain. When you stay at Storm Cottage you enjoy a peaceful farm experience. The cottage has a very comfy queen size bed, a well-equipped kitchen with essential food items, air-conditioning, washing machine, microwave, potbelly stove with plenty of wood supplied, a selection of magazines and games, and a fire pit with plenty of seating. There are two TV's - a smart TV in the living room you can cast to from your phone and a 32 inch LED in the bedroom. Both TV's have hard drives attached with movie libraries. Be cooled by the air conditioning or warmed by the potbelly stove or outdoor fire pit, fly a kite, collect fresh eggs from the chickens, marvel at the stars in the night sky, try your hand at origami, play the ukulele, run yourself a bath outdoors or just curl up on the lounge and look at the distant mountains or the stunning Cloudland sunsets. Please note that Storm Cottage is totally off-grid. This means that sometimes the batteries can become low if we have had a few days without sun. Please be mindful of this and reduce the amount of electrical items being used, i.e the washing machine does use a lot of power, as does the microwave or air conditioning. We like our guests to be comfortable but also considerate of overuse of power. Storm Cottage is 10 minutes from the quaint town of Gunning, 25 minutes from Yass, and 45 minutes from the north side of Canberra. We have good phone service at the farm (we use Telstra) As the farm is a working farm, we will most likely be there during your stay. We will be available if needed but will leave you to enjoy your stay. Please feel free to come say hi to us or wander through the property and make contact if you have any questions or concerns. Lade Vale is an area of farms. There are lots of lovely towns close by. Gunning is 10 minutes, Yass and Murrumbateman, 25 minutes away. Gunning has a great pub, two cafes, a service station with grocery supplies, and a lovely gift shop. There are quite a few historic buildings in the town If you are attending a wedding in the area, we offer a service to drop you off and pick you up.
