Beachfront house in charming Popenguine

'Ange Bleu' is a 180m2 beach house with African charm and European comfort built end of 2010 in the fishing village Popenguine. It is situated on the first beach which is a 5 minute stroll away from the village center. The House is divided in two and separated by a Moroccan-style courtyard. The house has approx. 180m2 indoor and shady patios space. The dining table which comfortably fits 10 people is situated on the front patio with view onto the sea. The house is separated into two with a garden and patio separating the two houses. The front house contains 2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room and the kitchen. The back house 1 double bedroom and 1 bathroom. A wall surrounds the two houses to ensure privacy. Front house is for up to 4 guests, both houses for 5 to 6 guests. No other guests will be in the house if only the front house is occupied. Our guardian Ablaye looks after the house when you are absent and takes care of the garden. He is always available to share the history of Popenguine and show you around. Ablaye is very much appreciated by our guests to appear when needed and to be invisible when not needed. Khady is are house guardian angel who will clean the house daily and can prepare delicious Senegalese dishes. She has learned to prepare food from around the world thanks to our International guests. She takes care of the house as if it were her own and can also do the food shopping for you if you wish her to cook for you. Our house in on the beach, with direct access from the sun terrace to the beach. You can sit on the patio and watch your children play on the beach. It is a 3 minute walk to the village with it's little local shops where you can find basic food and other useful things. Fresh fruit and vegetables are sold by local women directly at the house. The local market is 500m from the house. The village fishing boats are parked in front of the house, you can therefore buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen. Popenguine has 4 restaurants of which one is owned by a French women with very nice but for local standard quite expensive French cuisine. We work with experienced chauffeurs. They can pick you up/ take you to the airport and will also be happy to take you on sightseeing tours. Please note the following: WIFI: there is a mobile WIFE device. The wifi data charging is at the guest's charge and differs according to the use of the WIFI. TV: the TV has Senegalese channels with evening news in French. A Canal Plus option can be purchased by guests for €10/week. Please note that the climate and temperatures can vary. The main bedroom facing the beach has air conditioning. All other rooms have two fans in each room. Usually the sea breeze is enough to stay fresh but Senegal can get very warm. For travels who are not used to hot climates, we suggest to refrain from visiting Senegal between May and October or choose a house with air conditioning. The common practice in Senegal is that the personnel eats with the hosts if the meal is prepared by the cook. You can of course choose to eat alone.
