Crantock Beach, Pentire Headland, & Boating Lake also within walking distance. Off-street parking. Large backyard for relaxing, cooking on BBQ, or playing with trampoline, play house, and slide. Garage available for securely storing your toys. New bathrooms and appliances. A 3 bed family home with off-street parking for 3-4 cars and a large backyard for escaping the crowds. Bathroom and ensuite both refurbished in the past 12 months and oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and dryer all new. Garage provides secure storing for any toys you may wish to bring with you, although we have some bikes and surfboards available for your use too. Downstairs: kitchen with double oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and other usual appliances; dining room; lounge with TV and small DVD collection; access to garage which has beer fridge, washing machine, dryer, bikes, boards, beach equipment and storage; and toilet. Upstairs: three bedrooms, all with generous storage, one with ensuite another with small desk; and bathroom. We have little children of our own so can provide two high chairs, travel cot, and other things for little ones if requested. You have access to the entire house, garage, and backyard save for one room where cleaning supplies, linen, etc. are stored. We are letting our house while we travel, however, we will be contactable and have helpful neighbours and friends locally who are more than happy to help with any issues. This is a quiet, desirable, suburban neighbourhood which has very few holiday accommodation options. Basically, it's where locals live. Part of this attraction is the housing itself, the other is, of course, the location which is in easy walking distance to Fistral, Gannel, town and harbour, yet the quietness and calm of the neighbourhood let's you think you are much further away. If you golf, the first tee is half a mile away. For the essentials: If you are in need of a coffee we recommend Jam Jar or Box and Barber, both of which are about a 10 minute walk away. The Fern Pit Cafe doesn't have great coffee, but is renowned for its crab sandwiches and views which is about 15 minutes walk towards the headland. Another 5 minutes along the headland will get you to Lewennick Lodge for beer, wine, and meals. With a little planning for the tide you can follow the South West Coast Path for about 40 minutes to C-Bay in Crantock, which will divide opinion with Fern Pit for best crab sandwiches, with the Bowgie pub next door. Following the Coast Path in the other direction, The Fish House is fantastic (book well in advance of your visit), Rick Stein's offers expensive fish and chips, and The Stable has good pizzas and outstanding views, these are about 20 minutes to walk to, with two thirds of that walk being along Fistral Beach! We especially recommend Gilmore's and Bush Pepper's breakfasts. Both are a 10 minute walk away - Gilmore's can take longer if you want to take the scenic route along Fistral before cutting through the golf course - with Bush Pepper also providing lovely evening meals. Newquay has all the major grocery stores, except Tescos, which all have parking. Sainsbury's is the closest (less than 5 min drive), but is right in town so can take longer. Morrison's and Lidl although slightly further away tend to be more accessible. For rainy days, Newquay cinema is 10 minutes walk/5 minutes drive away. The house has off-street parking for 2-3 cars where we recommend you leave your cars unless venturing out and about in Cornwall as the best way to get around Newquay - as you can see from the overview! - from our place is walking or cycling! Cornwall isn't really the place to rely on public transport. That said, the house is near to bus stops, three-quarters of a mile from the bus station, and about 1 mile from the train station. Newquay airport is about 20 minutes drive away. This is our family home. Myself, my husband, and our two daughters live here permanently. It is not a second home or holiday let, so we ask that you treat the house with the same care you would your own.
