Thistle Doo - Luxury 2 bed Apt.

Thistle Doo is in the seaside town of Shearwater. It's a tranquil getaway with pristine white beaches and nature experiences. It offers foreshore walks & safe swimming whilst our neighbour Port Sorell offers a floating pontoon for seaside fishing & ramps if you bring the boat. There are beautiful beaches & sandy dunes to explore, plus low tide walks to Penguin and Rabbit Islands - once a hideout for bushrangers. We love our home & area and we are happy to share our experiences with you! Our self contained 2 bed apartment is on the bottom floor of our home in a quiet seaside neighbourhood. It consists of 1 Queen room, 1 King room or this can be converted to twin beds, modern bathroom with walk in shower and full size bath. Cooking facilities are provided in the kitchenette or use the undercover patio with BBQ & outdoor dining area. Suitable for wheelchair access, ask about other disabled facilities/equipment we can offer. This accommodation sits in a quiet neighbourhood and is NOT suitable for group gathering or parties. Pets can be accommodated but you must call before booking! Your dog must have up to date inoculations and you will need to provide a bed as pets are not allowed on furniture or in bedrooms. Just across the Rubicon River is Narawntapu National Park with an abundance of Tasmanian wildlife. Cradle Mountain is a must see and around an hour and fifteen minute drive. Penguin viewing is very popular at Lillico Beach and a 30min drive. Nearby foodie experiences include restaurants, vineyards, orchards, a chocolate factory and numerous farm gates dotted among the patchwork fields and lush greenery of Tasmania's food bowl & Tasting trail. Shearwater comes alive in summertime as a playground for water sports of all kinds, beach markets at local Surf Life Saving Club who also promote safe swimming etc. There are ideas/maps etc in our house manual for your perusal. Guest parking can be as close to your accommodation by following the driveway around to the rear of the property. Entrance to the Apt is directly behind the Lift. Generally we are around the place so if you need to catch up wanting recommendations etc just yell out or check our house manual located in the lounge of your accommodation, it's full of great information and we love feedback . Shearwater is well served for all your needs, we have a local Woolworths/IGA, Bakery, Pharmacist as well as various other shops in the village like Fish & Chips and a local bar & cafe's. * Shearwater is a 20min drive from the Spirit of Tasmania. * 10min drive from Devonport Airport * Around an hours drive from Launceston Airport * Merseylink is our local Bus Service and is just a few steps to the bus stop where Route 70 will get you into Devonport or Latrobe. You will find a route planner in our house book. Shearwater shares a cycle track that goes from Hawley Beach to Port Sorell or you could enrol in the local Park Run/walk from the lifesaving club to Port Sorell on a Sat morning at 9am in the summer season. For your convenience we have installed an automated sensor light in the hallway to guide you around the apartment when you have no idea where the light switches are, the light will automatically shut off if there is no movement.
